My son’s 2018 grand final — Cessnock Minor Rugby League, Under 15s Division 2 versus Dungog. 🏉

What a great day and a special season. The boys went through the whole year undefeated, with just one draw against West Maitland.

They grew so much under Swede’s coaching. Having been a fitness coach with the Knights during their 1997 premiership season, his experience and professionalism really showed throughout the year.

I’d been photographing the boys at Cessnock Minor Rugby League since 2015. In 2018, I took 40,000 photos and produced 5,000 edited photos, all provided free. At the presentation, each player received a football-shaped USB stick containing their individual photos from the whole season. I supplied all the USB sticks myself, free of charge, for the team members and staff.

Looking back, it’s great to see how much my photography has grown since then. I was out there with a Canon 7D Mark II and a 70–200mm lens — a great camera and lens that I thought were awesome at the time.

More than anything, I was just happy to be on the field, capturing the boys doing their thing, including my own son. I was really proud to photograph his team and give them those memories to keep.

A very special season for the boys and myself.

📸 G’day, I’m Graham—the bloke behind Dynamic Sports Photography!

DSP started on the sidelines photographing my son’s Under 12s team back in 2016,for the Cessnock Goannas. What began as a dad capturing his son’s footy has grown into my full-time business, with grassroots sport still at the heart of everything I do. 🏉

Based in Cessnock, I cover the Hunter Valley, Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and Central Coast, and I’m happy to travel further by arrangement.

From the youngest juniors finding their feet to senior players giving everything for their club, I love capturing the action, determination and celebrations that make sport special.

📷 What DSP offers:
• Junior and senior rugby league photography
• Community sports and action photography
• Individual player and team action coverage
• Match days, carnivals and tournaments
• Events, club presentations and special celebrations
• Professionally edited images delivered through online galleries 📸🫶👍

If it moves, I’m keen to capture it! Whether it’s on a field, court, track or somewhere completely different, get in touch and let’s talk about your sport.

I also enjoy covering events and presentations—it makes a nice change when the person I’m photographing isn’t sprinting towards me! 😄

There’s plenty happening beyond the scoreboard—the proud parents, hardworking volunteers, teammates and moments you’ll want to remember long after the season ends.

Looking to book coverage for your player, team, club or event? Send the page a message with your date, venue and what you have in mind.

Thanks to everyone who supports DSP. Follow along, tag your mates and say g’day when you see me out with the camera!

🟢⚪ East Maitland Griffins | Presentation Day 2026 📸

A great day at East Maitland Bowling Club celebrating the players and everyone behind the Griffins!

A big thank you to the committee, coaches, volunteers, families and Bowling Club staff who helped make it such a special day. Congratulations to all the players and award winners! 🏆

⚫🟡🔴 A highlight was meeting Matt Allwood, a proud Yanyuwa, Waanyi/Garawa man and former NRL player with the Canberra Raiders and New Zealand Warriors.

Matt has also worked as an Indigenous youth worker, mentoring and supporting indigenous teenagers through high school and into employment, helping build their confidence and encouraging them to reach their potential.

I had the chance to chat with Matt, and hearing what he’s been through and where he’s heading was inspiring. His advice for the junior players gave them plenty to take away from the day. Well worth booking Matt for your club presentation or next function. Thanks for sharing your story, mate!

Thanks for having Dynamic Sports Photography along to capture the celebrations. A pleasure to be part of it!

Unfortunately, it looks like photographers worldwide are reducing coverage and limiting image access because of image theft and AI watermark removal.

If it keeps going, there may come a day when professional photographers stop showing up and everyone is left capturing the action on their phones. We love what we do, but it has to be financially worthwhile.

It’s a shame we have to restrict access, but this is our livelihood. We need to protect our work and our businesses. 📸
