There’s something so fleeting about those first days with a newborn.

The tiny fingers, sleepy stretches, milk-drunk cuddles and the way they fit so perfectly into your arms. These are the moments that change before you even realise they’re gone.

I’m so excited to now be offering newborn photography here in Glen Innes through Halou Photography.

My newborn sessions are relaxed, natural and gently guided, with a focus on connection rather than perfection. Your baby doesn’t need to sleep the whole time, and your family doesn’t need to know what to do. I’ll gently guide you through it all while documenting the little moments that make this season yours.

A little new chapter for Halou.

When I first created Halou, so much of my work centred around motherhood, womanhood and the quiet, beautiful connection between a mother and her children. It reflected where I was in life, and it was a part of photography I truly loved.

But life has shifted, and so has the way I see things.

Moving from Brisbane to Glen Innes has brought me closer to a slower kind of life. Open skies, dark nights filled with stars, dirt under our feet and the simple beauty of being together. It has made me want to photograph more than just motherhood — I want to capture the whole family, the connection between them, and the little pieces of life that make childhood feel like childhood.

The new Halou is still nostalgic, honest and connected. Still simple and refined, but with a little more curiosity and adventure woven through it.

The new logo reflects that shift too. The little astronaut isn’t looking at the world from a distance — they’re immersed in it. Exploring, connecting and experiencing it from within.

And I think that’s what I want my photography to do too.

Not just capture your family, but make you feel like you were truly there.

Halou is growing into something that feels more like me now, and I’m so excited for this next chapter with the families who have been here from the beginning and the new ones I’m yet to meet.

Sunday 22nd November | 9:00am–3:00pm

Step inside the studio and into a beautiful little Christmas setting, featuring an artificial pine forest, neutral backdrops and twinkling Christmas details.

The studio will also be deeply air-conditioned, keeping everyone cool and comfortable while we create your Christmas memories.

These minis are short, relaxed and designed to make family photos feel easy. No stiff posing, no pressure for everyone to behave perfectly — just your family, connection and a little Christmas magic.

They’re especially suited to families with little ones who aren’t sitting independently yet. The studio setup allows me to work with babies and younger children at this stage, capturing all those sweet little details, expressions and connections.

Perfect for your family album, Christmas gifts or simply remembering this little stage of your family’s life.

These sessions are about capturing your family exactly as they are right now, the little hands, big smiles, cuddles, personalities and all those moments you’ll want to remember.
