There's no rule that says your about page must have a polished smiley headshot on a plain background... I say share more of your story with an action shot or a lifestyle pic that tells us a little more about you.

Especially because your about page text isn't really about you. It's about your client and whether you get them. Your background, your values, your why should be framed around what it means for the person reading it. Not "here's my story" but "here's why my story means I can help you."

I want you to not AI your photos...

Even if we set aside the copyright issues, the stolen art, the environmental cost and the rising price of memory and CPUs... AI photos aren't doing you any favours.

People are less trusting of AI images. In a world where just about everything is retouched, filtered or AI'd into that same cookie cutter, too-perfect version of a person, you looking like yourself is actually refreshing. It stands out. Your grey hair or your pimple is a competitive advantage haha!

When your new client shows up to work with you and the AI image didn't accurately represent you you've got to rebuild that trust before you can even start the real work. And that's not a great way to begin a relationship, especially if you're in an industry where you expect your clients to get vulnerable.

You are the magic behind your business. YOU should be the face of it. Your actual face... not the face of someone who resembles you but doesn't exist!!
