I finally saw STEVE!! (Strong Thermal Emission Velocity Enhancement) Last night on 22 March 2026 we had another significant Aurora hit our skies 😍 I have always wanted to capture and see a STEVE and last night when it seemed to die down a bit, over behind Mount Dromedary from my position I saw just a single lonely cluster of a beam, this was in fact STEVE and I finally captured one! Always buzzing from seeing our Lady Aurora, each one is special, each one is unique and each one leaves me wanting more 😍📷👏🏻

Tuesday 20 January 2026 💚🩵💜🩷❤️ Just the most truly magical night 😍 We were again blessed to have clear skies to witness a sever geomagnetic storm known as the Aurora Australis in our southern night skies. I have never seen her move or dance and pulse through the sky so quickly as what she did this night 💃 She spread far, wide and high in the sky, not just south…. But East, West, North and even straight above. Something truly magical we all got to see, not just on camera 📷 but with our naked eyes 👀 Goosebumps, amazement, and forever wanting that phenomenal feeling again and again 🤩 Please enjoy my portfolio of images I captured from the night 📷

Last nights Aurora was just absolutely unreal. No words, just goosebumps! A portfolio of photos to follow but for now, here is a sneak peak with a short timelapse I captured last night 😍 It’s so amazing to see everyone’s photos and that people got to see this magic unfold with their eyes not just a camera 🥰📷

Aurora Alert 🚨 Plus appreciation post 🙌🏻 Very stoked and very grateful to Hobart & Beyond for sharing my achievement and portfolio of images that I was awarded a “Highly Commended” award for in the Photographer of the Year Competition in the Landscape category and using my images in their Aurora Alert 🚨 post for tonight! A sever geomagnetic storm is happening right now people, fingers crossed she keeps dancing for us when our skies turn dark! Keep your eyes in the southern sky tonight to see her shine 😍😍🤞🏻📷

Ending 2025 on a successful high 🥰 I entered the ‘Photographer of the Year’ competition by Australian Photography Magazine in the ‘Landscape’ category by submitting a series of 4 photographs titling it “Dancing with the Aurora in our Southern Island Sky” with the blurb of “Our Tasmanian southern sky makes for the perfect front row seat for the Aurora Australis to put on a performance right in front of our eyes. Each time it is different, each time it is unique, and each time I can't help but be transfixed and completely in awe of its beauty, lucky is an understatement to be able to witness such an amazing phenomenon.” To which I was pleasantly surprised and thankful to be awarded with a ‘Highly Commended’ certificate 📷❤️

Halloween Eve Aurora - 30 October 2025 📷
To finally have the clouds clear and see the beautiful Aurora again for a pre-Halloween trick or TREAT last week was amazing 🤩 Also, unfortunately my beautiful sidekick (car) Volkswagen Beetle showed her age and gave up on me so we had to get a new car, and what better little car to get than a mini 4WD so I can take it off road on my Photography trips being a Suzuki Jimny called “Pixels” (of course the name to march with my Photography name 😉) So I had to get some great photos of my new wheels with the Aurora! So the Jimny will be my new photography sidekick to get me to places 🚙 Custom TasPlates are coming as well! Enjoy my photos of the Aurora 🥰📷

So stoked to have found out that my framed photograph of the Aurora over the Richmond Bridge I had hanging up in the Cradle Mountain Wilderness Gallery Aurora exhibition has now been purchased by someone! 🥰 Knowing someone is going to have my image hanging up in their home somewhere makes me proud that I took the plunge and entered my photography in this exhibition 🥰🤩👏🏻🍾📷🌿

World Photography Day 2025 📷 What another wonderful year of capturing moments and memories I’ve had 🥰 From visiting Russell Falls in the south of the state, to Sisters Beach in the north to trekking over to the mainland to visit gorgeous Cairns, The Daintree Rainforest, Port Douglas and Mossman, and so many wonderful Aurora’s we were were blessed to see in the last 12 months and other wonderful memories captured. Please enjoy! 🥰📷🌴🌿

Friday the 13th ‘Special Edition’ 📷 An absolutely gorgeous display of the Aurora on Friday 13th of June down at Carlton Beach. Even a pleasant surprise visit from some Bioluminescence in the waves to put the icing on the Aurora cake 🎂 The Milky Way shone through the Moons brightness and some planes coming into land at Hobart Airport which made an interesting feature in my long-exposure shots. A fantastic evening and so happy with all these captures, enjoy! 🥰📷

13 June @ 9:30pm, Carlton Beach 📍 Canon R5 with 16mm f/2.8 📷 A short time lapse. Last night was a wonderful little treat 🥰 After being in a week of rain and cloud, especially with the big Aurora most of us couldn’t see earlier last week, this was a magical way to end the working week with a show from my favourite lady on a special edition of “Friday the 13th” ❤️ It was a massive green arc on the horizon, we were there for an hour and was about to call it a night when BOOM all of a sudden she picked up with many beams and began dancing 💃🏼 Bloody cold but bloody worth it!
