Life Update: 🌻
As some of you already know I have a few health conditions and they have really caught up with me in the last year as well as recently being diagnosed with ME/CFS. When I started struggling I told myself it was my mental health and pushed myself to do something for me - create this business. While it was the best thing I’ve ever done for myself, it certainly hasn’t helped me get better physically.

We still have the most incredible plans for this business and I’m absolutely not ready to give up this dream yet so we are still working hard (albeit a bit slower) on that but I’ve made the decision to take a step back from social media and while I will continue to have my books open to previous clients I will not be taking on new clients at this time.

Thank you all for your encouragement and support this last year. It’s been hard but you have helped show me that this is the best job in the world and the only thing I ever want to do! But for now, I need to focus on getting better for these two monkeys 💕

And just like that, the first year of Love, Evelyn has officially finished! I can’t thank my beautiful clients enough for trusting me to capture their most precious memories and supporting me this year. I have been working on so many things behind the scenes for next year and I can’t wait to show you what we have created!

But until then, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from my family to yours 💕 see you all in 2023!

Celebrate your little love exactly how they are, snuggy and all!
I love when you bring your child’s favourite toy along to the session. Not only does it make them feel more comfortable in a new environment but it’s also such a beautiful thing to capture. Nothing is stronger than the bond my little Grayson has to his Darcy and he won’t be carrying it around forever so I’m so glad I have these photos to remember their friendship.

Being a parent is a tough job and I know I often count down the hours until bedtime. But then a milestone approaches and I feel all the mum guilt. The days are long but the years are short and as much as I find myself watching that clock, I also find myself staying for a longer cuddle after they’re asleep.

This is why I absolutely adore capturing children at any age. It doesn’t stop at a 1st birthday cake smash for me. Childhood sessions are often very busy. We dance, we eat snacks and we take whatever time is needed for your little one to warm up to me because these sessions aren’t just for you to look back on pretty photos, they’re for you to enjoy and soak in all the love you and your little (or not so little anymore) one share.

Oh my beautiful boy, how are you nearly 3!?

The first of my babies that I held in my arms, my rainbow baby, the baby that finally made me a mum, I am so in love with you. The way your smile lights up a room and the way your frown breaks my heart. The way you are so independent but also so incredibly kind to your little brother. The way you care about everything and everyone around you. You will not only change so many lives on your journey, but you will save the planet. I’ve never known a tiny human to be so compassionate to the tiniest of bugs and respectful to the largest of elephants. It is an honour to be your mum, Maverick. I can’t wait to watch you change the world like you have changed ours.

Happy world breastfeeding week✨

If I’m being honest, this will always be a tough one for me to celebrate. Due to a condition called Raynaud’s Phenomenon which affects circulation, I was unable to breastfeed for longer than 2 days. I tried to exclusively pump but that only lasted 2 weeks. To make things worse, I also had hyper lactation and was expressing over 3 times what Maverick was eating (and at 9lb 2oz he was a big eater!). It was so painful that I started to experience panic attacks whenever my alarm went off to start pumping. It was such a hard choice to end our breastfeeding journey especially since my body had already failed me and my children in so many ways, I was really focused on making this one work. But switching to formula was the best decision I ever made for our family. I was able to be a better, happier mum even though it took me a while to realise that was the most important thing. It also gave me a lot of confidence to advocate for myself when it came to having Grayson. For him, I hand expressed during my last week of pregnancy so he could have some colostrum and managed to get enough for him to have a full 24 hours worth before going to formula. I’m so proud that I was able to make an informed decision on what would be the best option for both of us.

So happy breastfeeding week. To all the breastfeeding people that fed for 3 years, 3 days or maybe even only before pregnancy. To those who found it easy and those who had to grit their teeth and get through it. To those who fed straight to baby or into a bottle first. And finally to those who decided that either breast milk or formula were the best decision, whether you’re still struggling with that choice or you feel empowered by it. You’re all worthy of celebrating our motherhood this week. ✨
