There’s something truly special about the moments just before a wedding ceremony. It’s a beautiful in-between space—full of anticipation, calm, and emotion. One of our favorite parts of the day is capturing bridal portraits during this time. We intentionally seek out simple, clean spaces with gorgeous natural light to create timeless images that reflect the serenity and beauty of this moment.

We always encourage our brides to take a deep breath, relax, and think about what’s about to unfold—the vows, the faces of their loved ones, the walk down the aisle, and the love that brought them here. These few quiet minutes before the ceremony are fleeting, but through these portraits, we aim to preserve the emotion forever.

Our goal is for our brides to look back at these images and be instantly transported. Not just to how they looked, but how they felt—the excitement, the joy, the love, the nerves, and everything in between.

Photographing weddings in a place as breathtaking as Airlie Beach, with its stunning natural light and serene coastal backdrops, makes these moments even more magical. We're always inspired by the beauty of Queensland and the incredible people we get to work with here.

BEHIND THE SCENES - MEET MAYA

Before I was photographing wedding days filled with emotion, light, and beautiful chaos — I was exploring abandoned spaces with my firstborn, Maya.

This photo was taken in an old paper mill we used to sneak into. It was just Maya, some beautiful natural light, an old worker’s hat, and a set of forgotten blueprints. I asked her to pretend she was studying them, and this image happened.

It’s one of only two portraits of Maya I’ve ever printed large, and it hangs at my parents’ house. It reminds me why I fell in love with photography in the first place: light, story, and human connection.

Those same things still guide how I document weddings today — with care, authenticity, and an eye for the in-between moments.

My Unlikely Path to Wedding Photography 💍

People often ask how I got into wedding photography—and the truth is, it’s been anything but ordinary.

My dad photographed weddings (and horse races for the newspaper), so I guess you could say it's in my blood. But my path? It started on the racetrack. 🏁

After hanging up my motocross boots, I started shooting what I loved: motocross races. But as much as I loved the action, I found myself missing the thrill of riding—and craving more creative freedom.

That all changed when my kids were born. I dove headfirst into newborn photography, creating images that blended emotion, artistry, and storytelling.

Then came the call: “Can you shoot our wedding?”
That one “yes” changed everything. ❤️

Weddings gave me everything I’d been searching for—emotion, movement, artistry, storytelling, and people. Lots of amazing people.

Fast forward to today: I’m still chasing moments. Just not on a bike.

This pose—one I personally instigated—continues to be a favorite of mine. It captures not only the grandeur of the venue but also preserves a significant and beautiful moment in time with artistic intention. I still love everything about it.
