New website and new identity. After 30 odd years Ive dropped the Hcreations and just gone back to Adam McGrath. As much as I love the story behind the H and how it came about, Ive decided to listen to my peers and go back to basics. A huge thank you to New Best Friend for putting this all together and some really clever tech bits in behind the scenes.

Almost 4 years ago I met Tom Skeehan for the first time as I was commissioned to take his portrait and was literally given about 30 minutes to meet him, setup some lighting and take his portrait. Today I finished shooting his latest line up of furniture which is just incredible as is Tom's work ethic. I re took his portrait today and unplanned ended up in one of his amazing chairs up on a table!

Probably the coolest assignment I shot this year! Concept and direction from Anton Scott-Cameron from Swell Design Group for Bisa Property's new development 'Illume'
Below are shots from two sessions applying different elements and one dancer vs three. It took some experimentation in the studio but these shots are not photoshopped! Bar basic tonal and colour correction adjustments they are straight off the camera. Stoked and inspired by this job, I hope you like

It’s not everyday you get asked to produce the artwork for a Hotel! 215 rooms of Hotel!
DECO Hotel on Northbourne Ave has just been finished and due to officially open around August but I got a sneak peek at the prints in some of the rooms yesterday and I’m so happy with how they turned out. There are two styles in the series one being ‘Nude landscape’ and the other one ‘Canberra architecture’ Based on my first and only exhibition, using Steam as an element I have used it as well as photographs I took of old plans and maps of Canberra and combined them all as well as a few little hidden elements and of course the main image. For me I get such a buzz driving past or visiting various places, homes and institutions knowing my work is hanging up there for people to enjoy.

To say that 2018 was a big year is an understatement! I've learnt a lot about a lot of different things this year in business as well as trying to build a house, be the best dad and partner I can and try and do a few skids in all my spare time. Next year is going to be even bigger with the house ready to go, a new edition to our family and taking the odd photo or two. To all my clients and friends who have supported the business again this year I thank you all so very much, to you and your families Id love to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
