The pair of swans have been diligently attending and protecting their nest. I have been visiting them often (keeping my distance of course) and chatting to them.... today I went to check on them and to my pleasant surprise saw the whole family having a stroll.... 5 babies... pics to come...

I think there was some early morning pecking order bizzo happening here. This somewhat aggressive behaviour helps sort out the hierachy in magpie groups.

Nature can be cruel and sometimes little baby birds are not meant for this world. The currawong is not the bad guy here though because they're just doing what they need to do survive.

Hello fabulous peoples, a little bit of a personal update... it's been a busy last couple of months and I'm not able to do markets lately due to work commitments. Work wise things have ramped up and my studio is now a work from home office (on occasion) due to the closure of the health building in the city. Reproductive healthcare doesn't stop however so we are providing services from interim locations. It's pretty full on at times but I love my job and my team and I'm really proud to work with them and do what we do. One day I hope to get back to the market side of things because it's fun to get out into the community and chat with you all!! Picture of my beloved Blue Billed ducks at my local pond because, well look at them... Look at this pretty and peaceful scene - a reminder to my self to get out there as much as possible for the self care.

A helpful guide to assist in the event you find a bubba... Please do not keep any wildlife just to keep the kids entertained or for clicks and likes on social media. Their life is worth more than that and you could be doing more harm than good. GET THEM TO A LICENSED WILDLIFE CARER ASAP. 💚✌🏻

Spring is coming and well meaning people "birdnap". What's that? When a baby bird is "rescued" and brought into care when it's not necessary. Have a read of the chart and understand the difference between a hatchling, nestling, fledgling and juvenile. Spread the word! Thanks!
