It was an honour to document this year’s Trinity Beach NAIDOC Celebration🦋

Congratulations to Which-Way Connect for bringing together such a wonderful event.

Thanks to the Elders, performers, dancers, musicians, volunteers, stallholders, supporters, families and everyone who attended. Your presence and contributions made the celebration what it was.

As someone who calls Trinity Beach home, it was wonderful to witness the community come together in this way 🫶🏻

What a beautiful day ✨

There was such a wonderful feeling all around… music in the air, families dancing together, children running barefoot through the grass, conversations, laughter and community coming together in the most genuine way.

Thank you to all the incredible musicians and beautiful people who created such a warm and welcoming atmosphere throughout the day 💛

And a special thank you to Rennae from Which-Way Connect for introducing me to so many wonderful people and spaces recently. Your passion for community, culture and connection is truly inspiring ☺️

This was also my daughter’s very first little reggae party and I think it’s safe to say she absolutely loved it 🙂 So if anyone knows about more family friendly reggae gatherings around Kuranda… let me know 😉

This shoot felt incredibly special from beginning to end ✨

We had planned this one for a while, and somehow, when the day finally arrived, everything just aligned. The background music moving through the forest, the smoke ceremony, the stillness, the laughter, the light breaking through the trees… it all felt deeply grounding and magical at the same time.

To witness Amanda so fully in her element, connected to herself, to nature, to ritual and presence, was such a beautiful thing to capture.

These are the kinds of shoots that remind me why I love photography so much. Less about posing, more about feeling. More about creating space for someone to simply be.

Thank you Amanda for trusting me with your vision and for sharing your beautiful energy with me. This one will stay with me for a long time ✨

I am so grateful when things just fall into place… ✨

Being trusted to document a moment like this is something I don’t take lightly and feel truly honored.

A powerful homecoming at Cairns Airport. Welcoming Far North artist Djawarray after being awarded Regional Artist of the Year 2026 at the Queensland Music Awards.

His dance group, the Mayi Wunba dancers, came together to honour him in a way that felt raw, proud, and deeply connected.

What stayed with me most wasn’t just the performance, it was everything beneath it.
The energy. The community. The shared history and excitement.
I’m deeply grateful to have been part of this moment.
