🇫🇷 Les scooters sous-marins, aussi appelés DPV (Diver Propulsion Vehicle), sont essentiels pour des plongées profondes particulièrement éprouvantes.
En effet, ils permettent aux plongeurs d’avancer plus rapidement et de transporter du matériel sur de longues distances (capteurs, échantillons...), tout en limitant l'effort.


🇬🇧Underwater scooters, also called DPV (Diver Propulsion Vehicle), are essential for particularly trying deep dives.
Indeed, they allow divers to move forward more quickly and to transport equipment over long distances (sensors, samples...) while limiting the effort.

🇫🇷 À une profondeur de 82 m, deux plongeurs de l’équipe UNDER THE POLE explorent la forêt marine de Puerto del Carmen à Lanzarote. L’interdiction du chalutage dans l’archipel des Canaries y a permis le développement de ces superbes coraux noirs.

🇬🇧 At a depth of 82 m, two divers of the UNDER THE POLE team explore the Puerto del Carmen marine forest of Lanzarote. The ban on trawling in the Canary archipelago has allowed the development of these superb black coral.

🇫🇷 Je n'avais jamais partagé publiquement cette conférence TEDx car il y manquait les sous-titres en français. Plusieurs mois se sont écoulés, et le nombre de vues ainsi que la nature des commentaires que j'ai pu recevoir sont assez incroyables, surtout lorsque les gens se sont sentis inspirés. Même si c'était le but avoué, cela me fait vraiment chaud au coeur. Mission accomplie.

Rappelons-nous toujours qu'il n'est jamais trop t**d pour un changement quel qu'il soit, surtout s'il est en adéquation avec nos valeurs. Pas besoin d'être le/la meilleur(e). Il faut simplement oser !

🇦🇺 I had never shared this TEDx talk publicly yet - as it was missing the French subs - a few months later, the number of views and responses I received have been quite incredible, sometimes a bit overwhelming, especially when people get really inspired by watching it. But that was the objective, so I feel deeply satisfied by that. Mission accomplished!

It's never too late to make a change that means something to you. You don't have to be the best, just dare!

This week Peli Pro Experts Ghislain Bardout and Emmanuelle Périé released "Between Two Worlds", an exciting modern epic of scientific and human achievement, with breathtaking pictures from Franck Gazzola Photography

"Between Two Worlds" takes you on an expedition with the UNDER THE POLE team through the story of 4 years of underwater exploration of the mesophotic zone, from the Arctic to French Polynesia. Throughout the journey, PELI cases have protected their valuable camera and scientific equipment.

Today is quite special: my first published book ''Between two worlds'' is being released on this very day! 256 pages of adventures and underwater exploration around the world told by and Emmanuelle Périé-Bardout ( ), and for which I signed most of the images (but not all: .lagarrigue .marivint .sostres or .aldo.9 and a few more have also contributed to the imagery!) taken over a span of 4 years, from the Arctic to French Polynesia, and during which we also lived and slept under the sea in the Capsule. For 4 years, we were exploring the twilight zone for science, in between the shallows and the darkest depths. We went from the coldest oceans to the warmest. This book « Between two worlds » (« Entre deux mondes ») is our story.
Thanks a million to the publisher for this work, and for all the long hours put in this large coffee table book. Thanks to for trusting me with this once in a lifetime assignment. Thanks to & for the amazing and extremely valuable support - in those expeditions, reliable gear is everything ! Thanks & for keeping the cameras dry even at great depths!

Aujourd'hui marque la sortie en librairie de mon premier livre ''Entre deux mondes'' que j'ai eu l'honneur de co-écrire avec Emmanuelle Périé-Bardout et Ghislain Bardout, co-fondateurs d' UNDER THE POLE, et préfacé par François Gabart et . 4 ans d'exploration scientifique sous-marine dans la zone mésophotique, de l'Arctique à la Polynésie française. Des navigations rudes au travers des glaces au séjour de plusieurs jours sous l'eau dans la Capsule, vous découvrirez des récits et des photos qui devraient vous faire voyager, vous transporter, et vous émouvoir. Les images sont principalement de moi, mais pas toutes. Comme pour tout dans ces aventures, chacun contribue, et c'est un travail d'équipe. J'ai eu la chance d'être épaulé dans cette tâche par de bons photographes comme Gael Lagarrigue notamment, Maxime Horlaville ou Alec Magnan et d'autres! Merci à tous/toutes!

We are all feeling incredibly proud now that the dust has settled and TEDxByronBay is over for 2021. We pulled off a seriously world-class event in our sleepy town.

Thanks to Nell Schofieldfor being such a clever and inspired co-curator of the speaker and performance program, to Kieryn Deutrom for making everything happen on the day with such a steady hand, the camera team Peter Cramer and Morgan Healy(legends), and the crew at the Byron Theatre - Tanja, Hano, Krishna, Jamie, Andre, Izzy and the front of house. Thanks Lyn McCarthy for the beautiful photos and Winnie Stubbs for the sexy socials.

Most of all thank you to the speakers and performers. From a conversation (usually in a cafe) to smashing out an unbelievable talk, everyone is so inspired by your bravery and commitment. You were all incredible. Every one of you.
