~ Day 3 ~

The last day of the heatwave has combined with pumping surf at Tamma. A very enjoyable morning watching the local crew at Tamma.

Still no airs from though.

Softlite - One of my favourite frames I’ve ever captured.

Took this shot over 7 years ago on a sunrise walk with a hired 200mm lens when I first moved to Bondi.

I’m grateful that a few of my friends have loved it also as it now hangs in at least 5 living rooms around the world from London to Stockholm.

I’ve also figured out how Instagram shops works after 4 years of IT pains. If you’re into this print or the others I’ll start to dig up from my favourite archives give me a holla - I ship globally with locally sourced frames, only the highest quality printing and museum grade glass ✌🏼

Super sucks on the second biggest day we had here.

After getting my quota of lips to the head and reef bounces I borrowed a set of fins to get some shots from the water.

When the lineup like this gets crowded I prefer shooting than surfing.

You go from being another surfer trying to compete for waves to everyone’s best friend in an instant and the mood changes completely.

Here’s three of my favourite shots from this morning at Super-sucks.

Carefully curated to make me feel better about not being born goofy footed.

Enjoy

6 frames and reflections from Sumbawa

1) Post surf explorations of a place I visited 10 years ago… Unlike Lombok the place is still recognisable. Just a few surf camps and a new cafe to service the more adventurous surfers wanting to get away from the Bali crowds. I don’t remember the mine though which employs most of the locals here. The banana pancakes taste just the same.

2) Big swell incoming

3) Morning missions

4) Take 3 for the sea, though unfortunately if you took 1,000 you’d still have a lot of work ahead of you here. Plastic pollution is rife here and often floating plastic is blown even to the most remote beaches littering the shoreline.

5) James and our trusty steeds

6) Local boy who’s eye I managed to catch from our 3 hr taxi from the port
