Pattern... Image 3 of 3 for my Visual Trends Unit. This photo looks at the concept of patterns and repetition. Another garden inspiration! I love the light and the texture of the wood in this image, not only the repetition of the fence panels 🪵 I’ve also used the lines created by the tips of the panels and the holes to create a sense of depth. Texture... Image 1 of 3 for my Visual Trends Unit. This photo looks at the concept of texture. I was staying at a friend’s home and this was a stunning tree in her front yard. The texture of the bark was just incredible with the patterns, shapes, lines and contrast in the different woody parts, and also the unique knot into the wood that just drew me in like an all seeing eye 👁 Bark is one on my favourite textures, what’s yours? 🌳🪵⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

This is little Pushka, one of the sweetest and friendliest cats I’ve ever met 💜 She loves rolling and playing around on the carpet and having lots of love and stroke. Meet Tilly... how cute is she! Usually super fluffy but on this visit was enjoying the fresh feeling of shaved fur! Always in stealth mode, you can never hear her coming but she’s always watching. This was garden playtime where she was observing something in the tree, I wanted to capture the expression on her face and use the tree shape as a frame. I love the greens in this image which bring out her eyes ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

He’s such a happy, handsome dog, and always gives me these little welcoming howls when I turn up to see him... he definitely is like the sunshine in dog form, warm, comforting and familiar. Love you to the beach and back! Two of my besties hanging out at Belongil Beach in Byron, Harry and Carme. They both loved getting their feet wet at beach time and I thoroughly enjoy their company. I wanted to make this a high contrast, fairly high-key image to bring out the colours of my subjects against the surroundings, and I wanted to keep a hint of blue in the waves 🌊 Harry’s favourite thing is paddling in the water, what does your pup love about the beach? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

This is Harry, he’s one of my favourite puppers and has been a client of mine for a couple of years now. Harry has such a chilled, laid back character, a kind face and eyes, with a love of the beach and the water. He’s a regular model for me while I hone my photography skills. Pet photography and portraits are becoming one of my favourite areas to work in as I love the challenge of capturing their characters. I’ve gone for a high key effect with this one⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I see these red powderpuff flowers all around the Byron Shire and I’m absolutely in love with them! They’re soft to touch and quite delicate. I love their colour, shape and texture and the tiny yellow balls on the tips of the red spindles, the devil is in the detail! Using depth of field to focus on my flower and have a blurred dark background for it to stand out from with its red colour.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

One of my regular tenants at my old house in Byron. On this occasion he had scared the life out of me when I was putting away my washing that morning! He’d found a nice safe spot curled up on the chair which had a bedsheet covering it. Love his little face and his vibrant colour against the pale wooden chair and background. I’ve used depth of field and the V shape of the chair frame to lead you in and create some symmetry. What do you think?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Came across this little guy at a clients property in the Byron hinterland. I had only a few minutes to capture some shots of him before he jumped and carried on with his day. I love the little water droplets on his antennae - for me it’s the tiny details that make things beautiful and I’m happy I was able to capture him so close. How amazing is nature! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
