A marvellous morning for a Moon Rise.

On a beautiful calm morning, the moonrise lined up with the sunrise over Busselton Jetty. I hadn't planned on it but when I saw it I knew I had to make the shot.

Swipe through for a couple more images taken through the early morning and sunrise. The Jetty is stunning in all colours!

Rural Japan is best Japan in my opinion. You can get away from most of the tourists to find some peace and quiet, find quaint little villages each with their own unique charm and the people there are always so happy to see you passing through.

Some of my favourite places to visit are the old preserved villages that look and feel like you have just stepped back hundreds of years in time. Places such as the Post Towns on the Nakasendo Trail or Gassho-Zukuri style villages like Shirakawa-go.

Here is a selection of images from in and around small villages in Japan.

Have you ever felt that you're being watched? Well at Otagi Nenbutsuji, that feeling is amplified to the max. This temple features around 1200 stone statues, all with unique faces, emotions, posesamd held items, showing a huge cast of fun characters.

Plenty of them have nice mossy hairdos which really add to the ambience and atmosphere of the place showing age and wisdom amongst the 'Rakan' statues which were all placed between 1981 and 1991. Each statue was created by a different individual as well which really shows the size of the project.

If you're visiting Kyoto, make sure to add this unique location to your travels. You can even combine a walk or journey to a number of other temples on the western side of Kyoto and even end up at the famous Arashiyama Bamboo forest for a spectacular day out.

Which of these faces most resembles your own or someone you know?

🍂🍁 One more reason to visit Japan in Autumn! 🍁🍂

If momiji viewing isn't on your bucket list, rearrange your priorities! This stunning split waterfall is one of the best places to see the leaves change as its so easy to access.

If you can believe it, this view is nestled between a cafe and a souvenir shop so you can grab a coffee or some lunch and sit down and and enjoy this peaceful view. With a car park and a bus stop right outside there's really no effort involed so the bang for your buck is off the chart!

Kegon Falls is a magical place from near or far. Take a cable car up to an amazing view of the falls and the stunning surrounds of Lake Chuzenji or get up close and personal by taking an elevator down through the cliffs to the bottom of the falls and feel the spray! There are a number of other viewpoints from all around the top of the falls too.

The Autumn colours really cap off this stunning scene.

The choices are endless, but so are the tourists, so get out there early!

Which view do you prefer?

Tokyo oh Tokyo! The city has so much to offer and there is something interesting around every corner; shrines tucked away between buildings, holw in the wall cafes with amazing and cheap food, incredible manicrued gardens and so much more. Visiting in early Autumn meant a few rainy days but there is a lot more mood and character to places in the rain.

You could easily spend months here and still continue to find new and interesting things to see and do every day. A couple of days here never feels like enough even for someone like me who prefers the small towns and nature for exploring.

The most difficult part about Tokyo is finding accommodation with a car park when you have rented a car. Oh and also driving through the massive underground expressways without getting lost. IYKYK...
