This was my response to Gin's very generous post ....
"Gin Szagola the pleasure was all mine. I'm not sure you realise how inspiring a woman you are. From the moment you contacted me I knew I wanted to meet you and Fable. Life is so wonderful at presenting these opportunities and I will always feel so grateful that you reached out to me. The bond you share with each other is not easily described in words, although to be more specific I should say not easily described by me. Your stories of your adventure have been so enthralling to soooo many people, me included. Being in yours & Fable's presence was a time I will never forget, the "language" you shared was unmistakable. I regularly call on "what would Gin and Fable do in this instance" when I'm with the herd.
I cant wait for the day when I see pictures of Fable in the USA and together with Finley. Onward xx"

About 6 weeks ago I received a communication from this lady explaining she and her “faithful partner, Fable, a 6 year old Snowy Mountain Brumby gelding” were travelling across Australia, east to west coast and she’d like an equine photographer to join her at the finish at the beach. You can't begin to imagine how utterly blown away I was. There are not sufficient adjectives to describe this duo and I certainly can't do them justice.
Just sit with this for a minute – Gin, a young woman, spent less than 3 months getting to know a brumby, Fable, and then the 2 of them set off on a 4,400km journey across Australia, starting off from Tathra, NSW on 20th May 2025 and arriving in Busselton, WA on 20th January 2026. Think about that......
They did it solo – no backup crew, no packhorse, barefoot and booted and bitless.
I’m so privileged to have captured their finish line. They’re the epitome of inspiration, they’re the embodiment of respect.

Hello! Long time since I've posted so we'll see how the algorithms like, or don't like, this 😉
The 2026 calendar is now available - yay! All based around beaches and the ocean, I had an amazing time capturing these images and I hope you'll like them as much as I do.
Thank you to all the horses Jab, Boo, Cisco, Hercules, Obie, Esme, Buddy, Lisha, Lion and Rambo and their humans for trusting me to capture them whilst being free on the beach.

It's been a busy few weeks capturing horses for the 2026 calendar. I posted a video of Hercules but I couldn't resist sharing this image. These two share such a unique bond, their relationship is based around respect and trust. It's difficult to express something that's new to you but I'll give it a go - being around them wasn't like being around a human and a horse, it was as if they were of the same being, communicating in a shared language which didn't involve spoken words .... like I say, difficult to explain but that's ok, I experienced it and I'll treasure it. Sometimes experiences just defy words. I knew my trip north would be special but I could never have imagined the beauty that has been my past 36 hours. Heading up the Indian Ocean Rd north and taking in the breath taking scenery, I reached my destination and was so warmly met by both Susi May and Hercules. This pair know each other so well and it was a completely new experience for me to be with a pair of souls so intune, to have complete dignity, respect and openness. It was an experience I will forever remember. We headed out again this morning at sunrise, and this is Hercules in all his glory. He embodies magnificence, he knows who he is, he is gentle. I am so grateful for this adventure, my heart is full 💛📷🐴

Now if you've ever seen one of my calendars you'll know you get 13 months. How shockingly remiss of me not to tell you about Titan who is featured as January 2025 in my 2024 Place of Grace calendar. His human recently posed the question "What's the purpose your horse has in your life?" And she elaborated that Titan "Will challenge the very depth of your soul to keep you learning.
