Making History

Operating its first ever mainline trip under preservation K160 glimmers in the morning light as it works its first trip having been under restoration at Newport for nearly 13 years when it came out of service in 2012. In conjunction with Steamrail Victoria and Victorian Goldfields Railway K160 and K153 are seen working 8544 away from Werribee with the first shuttle on the morning of the 14th of June 2026.

A collection of shots from the afternoon of the 11th of June 2026 seeing two BMS Heavy Cranes Inc on transfer with trucks Bower’s Heavy Haulage and Hogan’s Heavy Haulage seen rolling through Ballarat and out along the Western Highway bound for the Lotus Creek wind farm north west of Rockhampton in northern Queensland.

Winter shows it's true form by starting the season off with a bang on the 1st of June, as 707 Operations Vinelander returns from Mildura as T387 and P13 power through the rainy haze away from Morton Plains on 8644 to Inverleigh then back to Melbourne the following day.

Steam Dreams: The Journey Through Time
Powering under the 165 year old Bluestone Bridge at Navigator, Steamrail Victoria's K183 and Y112 are seen working in top and tail formation on the final return shuttle of day one of the Ballarat Heritage Weekend seen on the afternoon of the 23rd of May 2026.

After issues with the ICE radio on R707 on arrival into Bendigo meaning for a loco swap for the lead and rest of the trip back to Melbourne, T392 leads A62, N452 and R707 on the 707 Operations Grainlander on the return from Piangil over the weekend as they wait at Castlemaine with 8094 with a crew change and the arrival of 8031 from Melbourne. Shot taken on the evening of the 17th of May 2026. #707

The last minutes of light hit the top of the Melbourne CBD as Pacific National's NR57 and 9415 power out of the city into the Bunbury Street tunnel with 5MA5 from South Dynon to Islington in SA on the evening of the 14th of May 2026.
