12 Years in limbo is enough for Afghan Hazara asylum seekers in Australia!
I call on the Australian government, particularly request Mr. Scott Morrison and Mr. Alex Hawke, to pay particular attention to the most vulnerable and disadvantaged segment of the Australian society, those who are in a difficult situation considering their visa status and their families in Afghanistan.
Families and friends are in a devastating shock in Afghanistan due to an unexpected collapse of the government. There is no more hope for many.
Now, it is time to help TPV visa holders consider them permanent protection visas to settle them and support them in bringing their families. They are living here in Australia for years, and they are parts of our society.
Now, the security risk in Afghanistan is not only for those who have worked with the Australian troops. Many are in danger. And Australian humanitarian intake should not be limited to the immediate family of Australian citizens and permanent visas holder; instead, it is time to think about the TPV visa holders and their families, too.
As a community member, I am deeply sorry for what happened to Afghanistan and to my people, and I understand how difficult it is for those who have family and loved ones in Afghanistan. Particularly, those who are on bridging visas are in a very difficult situation and need more help. It is a torturing time for many of us, but it greatly impacted the disadvantaged ones, such as those who are on bridging visas.
Therefore, like many others, I expect a more generous policy by the Australian government to help those who are in a challenging situation now in Australia.
