Hey,

Kings Beach, Qld, Australia.

Yesterday afternoon we had storms forecast so I went down to Kings beach to watch them moving up the coast, there was some massive storms around but they weakened before hitting the coast fortunately, but after the main storm cleared Caloundra another little storm developed just to the west and started dropping massive bolts right in front of me.

Hey everyone,

Maleny, Qld, Australia.

Last night I went out for a short astro shoot at this cool tree on the side of road, I've shot this location once before but the clouds ruined that shoot but last night it was a cold clear night, really cold especially with the wind up on the range.

It was a bit earlier in the night so the Milky way was directly overhead when I shot it so this is a composite, I put the sky where it would've been a couple hours later.

The sky was tracked and stacked with 25 images

Hey,
Lake Weyba, Qld, Australia.

The other night I went for an astro shoot up at the famous Weyba Tree at Lake Weyba with my wife, haven't shot up here for a while and the tree has definitely seen better days, I don't think it'll last much longer unfortunately.

This is a blend of 2 stacked images as the Milky way was pretty high in the sky so I aimed up and shot the sky images and blended them with the stack for the foreground images of the lake and tree.

Hey everyone,

Point Cartwright, Qld, Australia.

A few nights ago I decided to head out to shoot some new astro images, we had a nice cool clear night so I took advantage of the clear skies, we've had some good clear skies recently it's been nice.

I ventured out to Point Carty and shot the Milky Way over Dolphin Rock, a place I haven't shot at for a few years so was nice to get back and shoot familiar scenery, I'm really happy with how this image turned out, done a long exposure for the foreground and then a stack for the sky and blended them together using Photoshop, stacked using Sequator and edited in Lightroom and Photoshop.

Hey everyone,
Sunshine Beach, Qld, Australia.

So this past Saturday night I decided to head out for an epic astro shoot as it's been a while and we've finally been getting some beautiful weather for night photography at last, let's hope it continues into winter.

Went and shot up at these beach cliffs at the Noosa National Park, had my camera perched up on the edge while I just chilled out and enjoyed the night sky, it's one of my favourite things, I've shot here a few times before and I always come home happy.

This image is a simple stack of 15 frames, stacked in Sequator and edited in Lightroom and Photoshop.

Hey everyone,
Coolum Beach, Qld, Australia.

Here's another image I captured a couple of weeks ago when I last went to shoot, this time I shot this with my Fuji camera.
After shooting with the Sony I decided to get the Fuji out because I know how to use it a lot more than the Sony camera so I found some other cool compositions and shot this long exposure image for the foreground and then done a stack for the sky and then blended them together, I really like the way it turned out and love the way the Fuji performs with the colours it produces.

Sky image is a 30 image stack.

Hey everyone,

Coolum Beach, Qld, Australia.

So this past Sunday I was finallyyyy able to go out and shoot the night sky, it's been a long time since I've shot the Milky Way so I took advantage of the rare clear sky, been very wet and cloudy here this year unfortunately.

I also have a new camera so was keen to see how it goes with night photography, bought a second hand Sony A7S and Tamron 17-28mm f2.8 lens.
Delighted to say I'll definitely be using this camera a lotttt more for my nightscapes, the low light sensitivity is insane.

This is a single exposure at a quite dark location and the foreground turned out pretty awesome for a single frame.

Hey,

Palmview, Qld, Australia.

Sorry it's been a while since I last posted any of my photography, life has just been busy and I haven't been shooting much at all recently, I need to get back at it again, can't wait to shoot some new astro images with my new Sony a7s and Tamron 17-28mm f2.8 lens.

I've been playing around on my laptop lately doing some editing and creating some new composite images to share with you all, shot the sky and foreground at different times a few years ago and thought it'd be nice together, I stacked and tracked the sky and stacked the foreground and blended them in Photoshop, stacked in sequator.

Hey everyone,

Image Flat, Qld, Australia.

Here's another composite I created using the Milky way and comet image I shot last month, this will be the last image I share of it, for now.

This is a very special one I created, my partner and I got married back in July in Brisbane City but when we got home from our trip to get married we decided to get dressed in our wedding stuff so we could get some awesome images with the Milky way as we both love astrophotography so we went to this nearby dirt road and took the pics during blue hour and then I was gonna blend in a Milky way I'd capture another time but once I got this image with the comet I knew it'd be perfect for what we wanted and this is the final image.

The Milky way would be in this exact position in the sky in this image so it all matches.

Hey everyone,

Palmview, Qld, Australia.

I'm just gonna have a bit of fun creating composites from my Milky way and comet image I recently captured, it's been all the rage lately so I knew I needed to make a play at getting an image of it, the night I shot it there was a bit of cloud around but we got a break for about 10mins so I shot a 15 image stack to try get the best of it, I didn't bother using my tracker as the weather wasn't supposed to be great.

I shot the image up the road at the Dulong lookout, used the sky replacement tool to blend it with this old image of a windmill I shot like 5 years back.

Hey everyone,

Mapleton Falls Lookout, Qld, Australia.

Finally back with an image to share!
I haven't been shooting very much lately, got out a couple times in the past couple weeks, captured my first Aurora image and first comet image from last night which is what I wanna share with you guys.

This is a composite image I created from my comet images last night and a foreground I shot last year at Mapleton Falls Lookout with some nice low lying fog in the valley below.
