Despite being the size of a thumb, this Western Pygmy Possum is a fully grown adult! ๐Ÿ“

It was one of many found at Dakalanta Wildlife Sanctuary (SA) during recent small mammal and reptile trapping surveys.

Data from these surveys contributes to our understanding of resident species' health and abundance. AWC ecologists are feeling very fortunate - with a record-breaking 29 Western Pygmy Possums caught at Dakalanta in three weeks.

Strange as this may sound, when a bee hive becomes too full, bees will form a "senate" comprised of more experienced bees to seek a new location.

When the location has been found, they vote on it by dancing as a collective until a consensus is reached.
