Heading to the Kruger National Park where, in only a few weeks,we'll be sipping G&T's around a camp fire listening to the African bush. How good!🐾🌍πŸ”₯

Not Today.

After an unsuccessful mating attempt this young leopard swats at a large male in the Sandriver at Mala Mala, South Africa.

We had sat with a herd of elephants for a while before noticing both leopards a few metres away. Sometimes it's mad spotting skills and sometimes it's luck. Either way it's magical!

A morning well spent at Mala Mala Game Reserve with Kirkman and our guests. Eye-level with a male lion at sunrise. We followed him until he met up with the Kambula pride of 20+ members. Another morning on Safari! With boarders re-opening I cannot wait to see what our next safari brings in 2022!

We spent hours searching for Africa's elusive cats. Only to find our best sightings on our trek from the central Kruger toward the southern parts. I photographed him from a good hundred metres away with a long lens and a bean bag for stability. The result is an image that feels as though we are at his level. There is an immeasurable difference between seeing an animal and experiencing it in its environment.

Towards the end of 2020 I spent eight days, with my father, in the Greater Kruger National Park.

We traversed as if we had the small country sized national park to ourselves. Driven by patience and the realisation of the fortune we had to be in such a remarkable place. The moments paid off, time and time again.

I'm not sure when we'll be able to get back across the big lake but I'm ready for when we can ✈🌍🐾

Wildlife Panoramic.

One of my favourite techniques when photographing wildlife is taking long focal length panoramas. Yes, the same way you take scenic photos using your smartphone. Driven by the curiosity of the result.

With the squirrel only a few feet away and having a 400mm lens on my camera I could barely frame the entire squirrel in one shot. I photographed the scene in six frames and stitched them together later. Giving the sense of a wider angle lens but keeping the beautiful background compression and extraordinary detail up close.

This was photographed in Kruger National Park on a camping trip with my father moments before absolute pandemonium when a pack of African Wild Dogs ran through hunting a herd of impala. There's always something happening if you know where to look.

A cold night amongst the trees in New South Wales, Australia.

A few camera necessities and the guts to not wonder what might be lurking in the dark is all that it takes to venture a little into the extraordinary world of astrophotography.

Allow the light to show you the world in a whole new light 🐾🌍
