Hi Everyone!

I'm Aditi — a local photographer, owner of
Devmatri Photography based in Everton Park specialising in nature-led outdoor dog portraits across Brisbane.

I'm currently building my portfolio and have opened up number of complimentary session spots. I'm especially interested in photographing large breeds, unique breeds, senior dogs, puppies and owner-and-dog pair to help expand the connection and storytelling side of my portfolio.

I work entirely at your dog's pace — no studio, no stress, no forcing moments. Sessions take place in beautiful outdoor locations where dogs can relax, explore and simply be themselves. That's where the best portraits happen.

These portfolio sessions are offered at no cost in exchange for permission to use selected images across my website, portfolio, social media and future marketing materials. An honest review if you love the images is all I ask in return.

Meet Arlo. 🐾

A field golden who arrived to his session knowing exactly what was expected of him — and delivered it perfectly every single time.
Arlo is trained to stay and look at the camera, which meant from the very first frame we were working together rather than working around each other. The result is exactly what you see here.
Every dog brings something different to a session. Arlo brought professionalism and a face that was impossible to take a bad photo of.
Arlo, it was an absolute pleasure. 🏅

A great portrait session starts long before the camera comes out. 🐾

A few small things can completely change how relaxed, focused and natural your dog feels during a shoot — and relaxed dogs always photograph better.

🐾 Exercise them beforehand
A dog who’s had a walk, swim or proper run is far more likely to settle into the session instead of trying to explode with excitement the entire time.

🦴 Bring their highest value treat
Not the everyday biscuit. Bring the thing they absolutely cannot resist. That’s what gets the ears up and attention locked in at exactly the right moment.

⏰ Arrive a little early
Giving dogs a few minutes to sniff, explore and settle into the environment makes a huge difference — especially for nervous or highly alert dogs.

🚿 Skip the fresh grooming appointment
Clean is perfect, but overly fluffed coats can sometimes photograph less naturally than a dog that simply looks like themselves.

😌 Relax
Dogs read our energy constantly. If you’re calm, they usually settle much faster too. You don’t need your dog to perform perfectly — that part is my job.

Jolly's Lookout. Early morning. Just this. 🐦

The Laughing Kookaburra is one of those subjects you never stop wanting to photograph. That silhouette against the D'Aguilar Range bush is as Queensland as it gets — and getting it right takes patience, a long lens, and a bird that cooperates just long enough.

Some of the most important photos I’ve taken were never paid shoots. 🐾

Long before Devmatri Photography became a business, I was photographing rescue dogs — dogs from difficult beginnings who needed someone to slow down long enough to really see them.

Through Pei & Pals (formerly Precious Paws Animal Rescue), I photographed adoption portraits designed to show more than just what a dog looked like. The goal was always personality — the expressions, quirks and quiet moments that help someone scrolling online stop and feel a connection.

Most of them found homes. 🩶

Every adoption still reminds me why I picked up a camera in the first place.

Because sometimes photography changes how someone is seen — and that can change everything.

Cloudy days are a photographer's best friend — and here's why.

Overcast skies act as a giant natural softbox. The light is even, there are no harsh shadows across your dog's face, and the colours in the background stay rich without being blown out. Direct sunlight creates squinting, patchy light and blows out lighter coats. Overcast light is consistent, flattering, and forgiving.

So next time you're tempted to reschedule because it's cloudy — don't. That's actually the call.
