Tokyo on foot is very much about big crowds, big streets, puzzling crossings, intriguing alleys and much welcomed serene parks.

I dug these out of the archives after answering an inquiry about the Leica TL2. Its intuitive functionality makes it a superbly stealthy street camera that coupled with vintage lenses produces pleasing images.

The big long soak we are getting today in Leura takes me back to my visit years ago on a rainy day to the Shinto shrine in Kyoto, Fushimi Inari-taisha, where, amongst other hopefully more enlightened thoughts, pilgrims were seen paying homage to the humble umbrella.
