The Quiet Forest

While I don’t consider myself an abstract photographer, I enjoy exploring creative techniques that add atmosphere and emotion to an image while remaining grounded in photography.

This image is a double exposure combined with Intentional Camera Movement (ICM), created entirely in-camera with Nikon Z8. I remember in the 90’s creating double exposure’s on film cameras waiting for the development was painful. These days it’s so easy. Anyways this image i captured in the backyard.

two of my images were recognised in the 2026 Landscape Awards hosted by Australian Photography magazine Photography magazine

“Drifting Through Green” was selected in the Top 30 Landscape category, while “Wyaralong Afterglow” scored me a Finalist award 👌

A huge thank you to the judges, Australian Photography, and everyone who continues to support my work. It means a lot to have these images recognised alongside so many talented photographers from around the country.

Most have seen on other socials. I’m slacking with this page.

Wave photography from the recent swell which smashed the Gold Coast.

Brisbanes Riverfire rehearsal EA-18G Growlers tearing up the city. My nikon Z8 is a beast in this field. Extremely fast at tracking fast moving objects. I shot these Growlers at continuous 20 frames per second @ 1/2000 sec . 100 400mm z lens. Walked away with hundreds of images without missing a frame. Couldn't be happier with the performance of the Z8 for this work. ( these are low resolution. His res is ridiculous 🙄
