Alice Springs and the Larapinta trail were definitely not how I imagined they would be. For some reason I had it in my mind that the landscape would just be a vast expanse of flatness. What I quickly found out was that there are plenty of ridges and valleys both around Alice Springs and on the trail. This particular image was taken in one of this valleys right after .parrot lost half of his water meaning I had to ration and share my water with him. It didn’t help that this valley also seemed to have a magical property where the saddle at the end never seemed to get closer no matter how far you walked towards it. Nevertheless it was a beautiful spot to witness sunset albeit feeling a little thirstier that I wanted to but still an amazing experience to share with .parrot !
