Headed out a couple of weekends ago for an overnighter on the Sandon River. Fishing was excellent but forgot the bug spray and was driven out of camp by the Midgies and ended up at a pub! Great weekend away in beautiful conditions.

COLD MOUNTAIN TARP CAMP | WORST MEAL EVER

Headed up to a ridge line camp I spied several years ago on another hike. Brilliant view and very cold camping with a dinner that was jus terrible, a dehydrated meal pack. But otherwise very enjoyable.

A subscriber sent me an MRE (Meal Ready to Eat) based on the Australian Army Ration Pack. So I bought an Army Camp Hootchie Tarp and headed out for an overnight military style camp. Great food and interesting option for light weight camping.
