Yesterday, I discovered something truly special: Teddy Town. This free, interactive Christmas display has been bringing joy to kids and adults alike for an amazing 25 years.

With hundreds of teddy bears and toys beautifully arranged, visitors are invited to go on a fun toy hunt, searching for specific items to find. It’s a magical experience that brings out the child in everyone.

Sadly, this year marks the final year for Teddy Town. If you haven’t visited yet, now’s your chance. Don’t miss out on this incredible piece of Redlands history!

📍 Location: 6 Bainbridge St, Ormiston (East) on the corner of Nelson St

Christmas Lights in Redlands.
Yesterday, I went to photograph houses decorated for Christmas, thinking I could do it all in one evening – how naive! The effort people put into sharing and spreading the Christmas spirit is incredible, entire streets are glowing with festive lights. I managed to visit Thorneside, Alexandra Hills, and Capalaba. Take a look at the photos and enjoy the displays. Hopefully, the weather stays nice so I can share more with you tonight.

What I've realised about portrait photography is that it's as much about interaction as it is about photography. As a photographer, you have a unique opportunity to glimpse into people's lives. Sometimes, you have an hour to work with someone; other times, there's only a brief moment to capture the shot. Either way, it's up to you to help people feel comfortable in front of the camera, telling their story.

For several days, I've been watching two noisy miner fledglings in our yard. At first, they were incredibly demanding, constantly calling for their parents to bring food. Occasionally, while waiting for their parents to return, they nibble on leaves or inspect the bark, trying to find food on their own.

Noisy miner after having a dip in a pool. I set up a bird bath in our backyard, and I’ve noticed a few birds using it, but not the noisy miners. They still prefer our pool, which sometimes has tragic consequences for them. Does anyone have advice on what kind of bird bath noisy miners might like?
