Sun and seascapes 🌅

Oh Noosa, you’re beautiful. Sunset in the first few images and then sunrise in the last couple-no matter which way the sun is going, the coast is so photogenic here. But watch the black moss on the rocks…it might be a bit slippery…ask me how I know 🫣😆😆

Magic Round Magic 🏈

Capturing this try was a highlight of my Magic Round experience. This whole sequence happened in about 5-6 seconds…the game moves so fast & I’m so stoked I got to capture it.

Side note, happy State of Origin-game-one-night. Who are we backing?!

The Greatest of Ocean Roads 💙🧡

Throw back to a fun photography trip to this gorgeous corner of the country. We spent days hitting all the famous, tourist attractions as well as some hidden gems, but there’s still so much coastline to explore. I’m starting to feel the need for another exploratory trip down this way again soon…the travel bug is biting! 🐞

Something something chasing waterfalls 💚

Nothing quite like a wet waterfall walk to soothe the soul. How lucky are we to have these natural wonders so close to us here in South East Queensland?! This is a decent loop, but worth it for the photos, calories burned, muddy shoes & leech bites 🫠 10/10 would recommend. How many of these falls can you name-wrong answers only please!

Magic Round 🏉

Something a little different for my feed tonight! 😮‍💨

I had the chance to sit on the sidelines for Magic Round last weekend and photograph the action across 2 nights. I also was able to borrow some gear (Z8 and a 180-400mm lens to be precise) and had so much fun capturing a few tries, tackles, some jubilation, some devastation and some partying in the stands. It’s always been a dream of mine to photograph some footy, having grown up watching it with Dad every weekend, so this was an incredible incredible moment for me personally and I can’t wait to do it again.

I just looked through my Lightroom catalogue for something to post and it’s been all work!! Might have to do something about that because all work and no play means not much to share here 😆 Thankfully I take a lot of photos when I’m out for sunrise or sunset, so I usually have a few extra frames that I don’t edit straight away. Anyway, here’s a few from a (kind of) recent trip down to the Gold Coast, catching sunrise at Currumbin. Might have to turn myself from a night owl back to an early bird and do more of this!

Autumn vibes 🍂🧡🐮

This sweet little patch of Autumn in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland is such a fun place to visit this time of year. Being a sub-tropical climate we don’t really get all that many places with the deciduous autumn trees. Heading up this way again soon to check out what it looks like now. Have you been here before?

It’s that time of year again 🤩🌌

The funniest thing happened when I was photographing the little blue church in the first image. We had set up our cameras and were starting to frame up our shots when we started hearing an animal grunting quite close by. Being a New Moon night, it was pretty much pitch black to our eyes, so we couldn’t tell where it was coming from. We decided to keep photographing & just keep an ear out for if it got closer. Over the next few minutes, it didn’t get closer but it did get louder and for some reason we bolted for the car, at one point, two of us trying to jump in the same door, leaving our equipment set up somewhere in the dark 😆 After a few minutes, we figured out that what we thought was a wild boar hunting us in the dark, turned out to be a rather vocal koala in the tree next to my car 😆😆😆 Don let your imagination run away with you in the dark friends! 😆😆😆

Anyway, if you’re keen to *not* get chased by a boar in the dark and catch some Milky Way skies, let me know! I’m hoping to get out a bit more this season!

She takes snapshots by the sea shore 🐚🏄🏻‍♂️🌊

Some recent and some not so recent images from my Gold Coast adventures. This stretch of “sea shore” has to be one of my favourites for its versatility & beauty. Sunrise? Yep! Sunset? You betcha. Surfers, wildlife, long exposures, reflections, it’s all there. Pity I have to drive the M1 to get there…😆😆😆 How many of these spots can you name?

Just your friendly reminder that whale season is coming up quickly! Looking forward to seeing these sweet creatures cruising the coastline again in the next couple of months-these images are from my favourite whale watching spots at Point Lookout on North Stradbroke/Minjerribah and also at Cabarita.
