"Light on the Ledge"

The sun was just starting to break through the cloud at sunrise at Tubberlungener / Mount Buffalo. I never get tired of what Nature offers up there. It's such a special place.

"Snowdust on Snowgums"

When there was a light dusting of snow back in early May, I drove up to Mount Hotham to check it out. I never imagined that these would be my only snow photos of the season, but it does look like that's how this year has panned out!!

Our snow season here has been described by some as "disastrous" ... and the longihorn beetles who have survived the warm winter here will no doubt wreak havoc on our snowgums this coming year ... but when you consider what the warming climate has caused in Nepal... 😢

I can understand why some people stop reading the news. It's a lot, isn't it?

You'd think that with so many foggy morning photos of dirt roads, I'd feel like I've now "got enough" of them. Far from it. I think these will become another motif I return to time and time again (like lone trees and waterfalls). I wonder why they affect me so strongly??

"Sunrise at Sinclair's"

In the week before we went to New Zealand, we had a Lumen Australis catch-up (Ricardo da Cunha, Chris Saunders, Matt and me) here in Bright. Originally, we'd planned to photograph the snow... but that wasn't really on the cards, unfortunately! So instead, we spent time up at Tubberlungener/Mount Buffalo, and in the Buckland Valley. The last morning we went out, Chris and I were treated to some very special conditions at Sinclair's waterhole. So beautiful to be there with the water level so high, and the sunlight painting gold on everything...

Thanks for a wonderful morning, Chris!
