"Journey to Irarfoss"
by Matt.

Matt's story: "It was a lot of fun photographing the iconic Icelandic Horses in the South of Iceland thanks to the cooperation of Skálakot and local farmers. The horses have such big personalities and at one stage, two of the horses decided to run off on their own adventure. In this image, the handler has been removed, but was present during the photo for the safety of the horse."

"Journey to Irarfoss" is currently on display in the Gallery, hanging as a fine art cotton rag print. We're open 10am-4pm daily except for Wednesdays at 102a Gavan Street in Bright.

"Emergence"

Matt's story: "This tree and scene was a fortunate observation in South-West Tasmania near Lake Pedder. The day was very rainy with a lot of drifting fog and low cloud. In this moment, the fog lifted this tree out from the trees behind it creating a beautiful portrait of this Eucalypt and the habitat around it."

"Delany Avenue in Fog"

Perhaps the most photographed stretch of road in Bright, Delany Avenue is special for its alternating trees in Autumn: each deciduous tree stands next to an evergreen, making for a delightful alternating set all the way down the road. Best not to try and photograph it on Bin Morning though! 😂🤣🚮

We're almost at the end of our Autumn Showcase now. "Delany Avenue in Fog" is currently on display as a fine art print; however, we will soon be introducing more "Wintery" scenes to hang in the Gallery as it is definitely beginning to feel more like Winter here!

Open 10am-4pm every day except for Wednesdays.

"A Stroll along the Ovens"

Each year, Autumn creates a lovely blanket of leaves on the Canyon Walk beside the Ovens River in Bright.

"At the End of Autumn"

Though many of the trees are now "past it", I actually really enjoy photographing the trees at the end of Autumn. The ground is completely covered with leaves, and often the only leaves remaining attached to the branches have the most intense colour. It can be tricky to get a composition that obscures the branches that have no leaves and emphasises the ones that do... but that's just part of the challenge!

"At the End of Autumn" was part of our Autumn Showcase, but has now found a new home! It's still available from our website though.

This week, we go from being open 7days/week back to 6 days/week - we're now closed every Wednesday, but open 10am-4pm from Thursday to Tuesday. Matt and I are looking forward to finally having a day off together! 😊

"Canyon Dawn"

I love fog-chasing. There's an element of uncertainty, because you're never quite sure where it will be. This particular morning, there was a fog forecast for Bright, and although I really didn't feel like getting up, I dragged myself out of bed and was delighted to find fog in the centre of Bright! I headed down to the Canyon Walk along the Ovens River, and discovered this delightful scene.

The fickleness of fog, and the high risk of coming home with a blank memory card, makes capturing a photo like this all the more exciting!

We're still seeing some beautiful Autumn colour in pockets around the area, so our Autumn Showcase is continuing... for now. When it begins to feel more like Winter than Autumn, we'll start including some more Winter-y scenes!

"The Autumn Quiet"

End-of-Autumn chestnut trees combined with thick morning fog... what a perfect combination!

The chestnut trees always look their best right at the end of Autumn when most of their leaves have fallen on the ground and the only colours left are oranges and reds. I hope to capture another shot like this before Winter arrives!

"The Road to Wandi"

The trees along Morses Creek Road between Bright and Wandiligong are a delight to photograph. Especially on a foggy morning, when the maggies are warbling away at you from across the road!

We still have some magnificent colour around here - I think this is one of the best Autumns we've had in many years!

"McCormack's Lane"

Beautiful McCormack's Lane in the Buckland Valley. Every year it gets even more beautiful, I think!

"The Autumn Trees"

The spectacular avenue of Autumn Trees out the front of Feathertop Winery in Porepunkah. Every year is different, so we now have quite a collection from this location!
