Thank you to all my clients for your support and patience through the early stages of my recovery. The love is very much appreciated! It’s good to be back on deck even if I am still a little slower moving around than usual…

For anyone wondering why there haven’t been many photos of people doing active things lately…

It’s because I’m currently less mobile than most of the people I usually photograph.

A couple of weeks ago I had hip surgery, which means I’ve temporarily traded cameras for crutches and photos for physio exercises.

The good news is that everything is going well. The bad news is that I’m still at least a few weeks away from being properly back on my feet and chasing the action with a camera in hand.

I wanted to say a huge thank you to all of my clients who have been incredibly understanding while I’ve been out of action. Every message, check-in and “don’t worry, just focus on getting better” has been genuinely appreciated.

An even bigger thank you has to go to Georgia, who has somehow managed to survive a fortnight of me being stuck at home has been absolutely amazing throughout this whole process and I honestly couldn’t have done it without her, largely because I still can’t put my socks on myself.

I’d also like to acknowledge Maisie, who has been absolutely thrilled by this whole situation. While the rest of us have been dealing with surgery and recovery, she seems to be under the impression that my rehabilitation program is simply “provide unlimited couch time and lap access on demand.” As far as she’s concerned, this has been a complete success.

For now, recovery continues. The camera is mostly resting, the physio exercises are definitely not optional, and my biggest sporting achievement each day is successfully getting in and out the shower.

Hopefully I’ll be back behind the lens before too much longer. Thanks for your patience, your support, and for not replacing me with someone who can walk normally.

See you all soon.
