𝙎𝙪𝙣𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙚 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙚 ☀️

It’s been AGES since I’ve had a chance to take some new images. I wasn’t rusty, but had very limited time. Dropped my boy at school at 9am, drove 300km total, with a couple of stops, a hike/jog and no food I tried to fit in as much as I could before the pickup at 3pm. 6 hours well spent!

This one captures my impressions of rural Queensland, Australia.

Also got my fix of eagles 🦅 along the way!

Lucky to get this view of Mt Fuji whilst on the Shinkansen 🚅💨 (bullet train) from Tokyo to Nagoya between jobs. Set the camera for a relatively slow shutter speed with stabiliser on to get the sense of motion in the foreground gradually become sharper into the distance.

The road approaching Monument Valley is truly a sight to behold. This was taken at dawn over a decade ago now… and I still keep looking through the library of photographs I took in those few days. It is as though time has stood still for millions of years. A great place to sit and think about how small and fleeting our time here really is… 🤔 🤯

A rough and stormy afternoon smoothed out with some long exposure.
“Terrible idea Dad!” Was my 4 year olds opinion of me getting him to hold the umbrella/wind break. 😂🥴

I got lucky on the second attempt. Day 1 was atmospheric, but the fog and heavy rain quickly put an end to anything worthwhile. Day 2 was feeling the same… until this happened! Right place, right time. 👏

A heavy summer rainstorm caught me by surprise the day before. It was insane. As my 3 year old boy told me, this was “not a good adventure Dad!”
I came back the next day in the sunshine and this was the result. 😎

This was the backdrop to my sister in law’s wedding ceremony. I’d never been to the Gold Coast hinterland before, but I will definitely be visiting again!

A heavy summer rainstorm caught me by surprise just as I finished the walk to this waterfall… the walk back through the mud was “not a good adventure” according to my 3 year old son who had joined me this time!
I came back the next day in the sunshine and that’s a post for another day 😎

Another from a stormy day in Flinders… this time in black & white. Some huge swells were battering this part of the peninsula with some of the largest waves I’ve ever seen!
