Hey everyone!
Christmas is coming and I am seeing a lot of Photographers advertise their Christmas shoots for 2026 which is great, I love welcoming new photographers into the area and love seeing new businesses grow and bloom! However, I am also seeing a lot of photographers advertise their Christmas sessions using ai generated photos that do not match the overall skill and quality of what is presented on their social media pages. Unfortunately they are advertised at a budget rate often drawing in clients with false advertising.
This is just a quick tip for anyone who is looking for a Christmas session, if you see an advertisement that looks too good to be true, it probably is. If you see photographers advertising with a Santa at rock bottom prices be wary, you want to ensure you are taking your children to see a Santa who is reputable and has all the required Working With Children checks and proper criminal record checks, not just someone who has decided to pop on a red suit and be Santa this year.
Beyond that, make sure you check if the advertised photo matches the aesthetics of what the photographer is posting on their social media pages. It is generally pretty easy to tell if it's an ai photo that way, check the lighting, the general balance of the image. If the photographer is keeping the location secret or has multiple amazing sets advertised, it is also very likely that you won't get what they've advertised.
So just keep an eye out and be wary! I am more than happy to recommend photographers to you who I know personally and who will produce amazing quality Christmas images for you.
