Excellent article about the Tomaree Coastal Walk, which runs through our village. Boat Harbour is halfway along the walk so we are spoilt for choice on walking tracks. Our piece of paradise! Its good to be home for whale watching season 🐳

Day 10: The Capertee and Glen Davis townships are surrounded by National Parks - Wollemi NP, Gardens of Stone NP, and Capertee NP. The Blue Mountains NP adjoins the Wollemi NP, almost like one big ridge facing west - a very dramatic backdrop to the cleared grasslands of the valley floor.

Day 9: Took a wrong turn today. Got bamboozled in Bathurst and exited town on the Wattle Flat/Sofala Road to Mudgee, which was very “interesting” with the caravan in tow. Steep ascents and descents, ridge-top roads with frightening drop-offs, hairpin bends, 30km/h signs - reminded us of the high country in Victoria with snow gums and amazing views. Of course, there was nowhere to stop and pull over to take photos. Aleta saw all the views 👀 Mark was concentrating 😰 on the road. (We were aiming to go on the Mitchell Hwy, and then through the Capertee Valley).

Day 6: On the road today between Lake Cargelligo and Orange we were fortunate to see two echidna on the move. This one quickly crossed the road in front of us, giving us an excellent view.

Day 5: Sunset approaches, across Lake Cargelligo. Successful birding day today - Superb Parrot (listed as “vulnerable”), Pink Cockatoos, Blue Bonnet parrots and extended viewing of a Great Egret defending his territory and hunting. Time to put the camera and binoculars away, settle in for an early night so we can be up with the birds before sunrise.
