Less then 2 weeks to Pet Santa Photos West Blacktown Veterinary Clinic! Getting excited!

🎄 🎅 Christmas is coming to West Blacktown Veterinary Clinic! 🎅 🎄

🎄When: Sunday 28th November 2021

🎄Times: there will be 2 sessions – 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 4pm

🎄Price: $50

🎄What you get: 4 x professional photos via a digital photo gallery, a goodie bag valued at over $30 thanks to Zoetis, Hills, WBVC and Love Your Pet, Love Your Vet. Your furbaby will also get a little present from Santa! 🎁

🎄Raffle: there are 3 prize packs to be won – tickets can be purchased in clinic throughout the month, or on the day. Tickets are $2 each, 5 for $8 or 10 for $15

🎄Santa: Our very special guest Santa will be none other than Dr Allen! 🎅

🎄The photographer: Caroline Delilah Photography - Pet & Family Photography – a wonderful photographer and friend of the clinic who has photographed us previously

🎄100% of the profits will be going to our chosen charity – Love Your Pet Love Your Vet. A charity very close to our hearts, focusing on improving the mental health and well-being of veterinary professionals

🎄As the photoshoot will take place outdoors, we can only accommodate dogs this year

I’ve been a bit quiet on here lately due to Covid and keeping busy with my new addition to the family baby Austin! So sad that we won’t be able to do Xmas in July due to Covid. Hope to bring you this great setup at Xmas x

Unfortunately with today's announcement of an extended lockdown, we have had to make the decision to cancel our Christmas in July photoshoot 😢 We were really looking forward to bringing some fun and festivity during covid, and not to mention seeing Dr Allen as Santa!

Due to the uncertainty going forward, postponing is not a viable option at this stage. For those who have booked and paid, we will be in contact over the next few days to organise your refund.

Hopefully restrictions will be a thing of the past closer to Christmas, and we can organise a photoshoot then 🤞

I’m so excited that I will be partnering up with West Blacktown Veterinary Clinic in July to support this wonderful charity Love Your Pet Love Your Vet! Mental health is so important to me, be kind, it matters. More details on our charity event to come soon!

Have you noticed or been feeling that it has been difficult to get an appointment to see a vet lately?

That’s because it has been! Sadly, the veterinary industry is currently facing a serious crisis, and we need your help and support to get through it 😢

Vets and nurses are leaving the veterinary profession at alarmingly high rates, and it is an issue all clinics are facing globally, including here at West Blacktown Vet Clinic.

Why is there a shortage of staff?

Working in the veterinary profession is not easy. The hours are long, the pay is low, the work is stressful, and abuse or emotional blackmail from clients is common. The su***de rate in the veterinary profession is 4 times that of the rest of the population, and many of us succumb to compassion fatigue. Figures from the Australian Veterinary Association show that we will lose 1 veterinary professional every 12 weeks to su***de 🦄

What can you do to help?

It’s easy really. Remember that vets and nurses are normal people who go to work everyday just like you. Understand that if we don't charge for our services, we won't be there to help all of your pets anymore. Understand that when a vet or nurse is abused or told they don't "have a heart" or are “just in it for the money” because they won't treat an animal for free or provide a discount, understand that vet is potentially one step closer to leaving the profession...or worse.

To all the vets, nurses, animal attendants and veterinary receptionists, past, present, those with us and those sadly no longer with us, THANK YOU. Thank you for caring so much about the clients and their pets, thank you for being a voice to the voiceless, thank you for sacrificing your family time or money from your own pocket for other people’s family, and thank you for being there and supporting each other. 💜

And to our amazing clients who support us, thank you 💜. It means more to us than you will ever know.

You may have noticed I’ve been a bit quiet on here. Surprise, It’s because I’m growing another human!

First trimester was not that kind to me but I’m getting into the swing of things now with my toddler in tow.

I’m still doing shoots just haven’t been posting as much. I’ve got two mini shoots in the works before baby number 2 comes so keep an eye out for those coming soon! Christmas in July and Sunflower sessions!🎄🌻 If you’re wanting to book me in for a family or pet photoshoot im taking bookings until 1st August so get in quick not many weekends left. 💕
