It may be a bit feint, but I captured the Tsuchinshan-ATLAS Comet. It last visited our part of the solar system about 80,000 years ago. It will never return as it is leaving our orbit. I can't say I saw it with the naked eye, but I captured it with the lens. I drove about half an hour to get away from clouds to find a nice spot on a dirt road. The sheep must have thought I was crazy. Maybe I am.

I remember seeing Halley's Comet in 1986. It was a smear of blurry star. This one is definitely has more of a tail. Not a great shot but another life experience nonetheless. Loving Tasmania. If I were in Sydney, I would not have had this opportunity.

More views from my back door. Same two scenes in different light. Very interesting indeed.

I've had my eye on this scene for a few months and have been waiting for the right conditions to shoot it. At dusk yesterday at home (5 minutes away form this scene) the conditions were perfect. Heavy cloud/fog, moody and good light. I decided to have a go. Not 500m from home, no fog, no low cloud. Oh well, I'll have to go back when the conditions are more suitable. I'm still pleased with the first photo (Upside down) as it has a bit of an ethereal look to it.

My top 3 from the Aurora on the 11/10/24 at around 9:30-10:30pm from Scottsdale Tasmania. Shot with a Fujifilm X-T4, Viltrox 23mm 1.4, 2 seconds, Iso 1000. It was absolutely amazing. The best of the Aurora I missed as the shots were out of focus. Rookie errors. It was an absolute spectacle nonetheless.

The first time I have ever seen an Aurora. Just beautiful. It happened on the 12th September 2024. We went up to The Sideling Lookout. I'm still in awe.

A second edit and a couple more from last night.
