Yesterday was a scary day.

Usually my films are uploaded to YouTube or sent to my client from the safety of my office chair. But for the first time hosted a cinema screening of 3x of my short docos on holistic management and regen ag in the southern rangelands/northern agricultural region.

The turnout was overwhelming with the amount of people who came along, some a very long way.. and all the interested questions that came at the QnA with the farmers afterwards.
The films wouldn’t have been possible without Justin and Phillippa and the screening wouldn’t have been possible without the legends at with funding from Aus gov natural heritage trust. My wife .australia for being so supportive.
But no film would exist without the stories of the farmers themselves, the incredible courage to embark on their regen journeys let alone to sit down on camera and talk about it. So thank you Rod, Katrina, Gemma, Helen, Jeff and Kirsti.

But most of all, thank you to the folks who came down and spent their Sunday evening watching these films. Those interested in regen ag, working in the sector, famers or complete newcomers to the ideas… thanks from the bottom of my heart 💪

What happens when a community comes together to grow something bigger than a garden? In Kojonup, in Western Australia's Great Southern, residents rolled up their sleeves to build wicking beds, get their hands in the soil, and learn practical skills for growing food through long, hot, dry summers.
Filmed across two community workshops delivered by Southern Dirt, this video captures the spirit of the Summer-Proof Your Garden project, a hands-on program focused on drought resilience, water-wise gardening, and the simple power of people working together.
From constructing water-efficient wicking beds to planting out a brand new community garden, the project gave local residents the knowledge and confidence to care for their gardens and their environment, no matter what the season brings.
The Summer-Proof Your Garden project was supported by the Great Southern Development Commission, through funding from the Australian Government’s Future Drought Fund and the WA Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development.

Research on homeopathy to improve crop yields continues...

In one recent study, the effects of applying nosodes to bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) crops before and after harvest were evaluated. The experiment was conducted in the field, with a specific remedy applied once, three times, biweekly, and weekly from the flowering stage of the “Delgado” bean plant.

The use of a homeopathic remedy resulted in a 108% higher yield, 26% greater biomass, a 32% increase in root length, 34% more pods, and up to a 227% decrease in damaged pods compared to untreated plants.

BROILERS - The breed of almost every meat chicken available….🐓
The breed doesn’t have the best PR campaign, they don’t look the prettiest and they were engineered to sit in a cage and get big QUICK. Sad really. But the folks raising chickens in a pasture raised system have a sneaky ace up their sleeve.

The biggest accidental benefit of raising broilers is…. WE ALL KNOW WHAT BROILERS TASTE LIKE.
From to to even everyone’s favourite 🫣🫣🫣

That’s the control group…. Now let’s change the system.

Folks like who produce and distribute pasture raised meat chicken have population wide experiment backing up their farming ways. 💪

ONE BITE. That’s all it takes to tell the difference. Flavour, texture, colour, moisture, nutrient density….

Once you bite, you’ll be hooked.

But, You will relapse from time to time. Free range Supermarket chicken is cheap, kinda, not really.
But it’s readily available…. Kinda… 🇺🇸 🇮🇷….not really.
But it tastes good, kinda…. Not really.

Now’s probably a good time to find a local pasture raised chicken meat supplier…
