Fire in the sky!

On 9th January this year I took this photo of the fire storm as it swept over and burnt everything in its path in our valley and beyond.

I had planned to stay and defend our property, but seeing this monster about to descend on us, we chose to evacuate. Within an hour of leaving and taking this photo just about everything was on fire. With some luck and the amazing help of heroic neighbours our home survived. Our garden was not so lucky, but slowly it is regenerating.

I apologise if this image is somewhat triggering for some people, but I just wanted to show how awesome and amazing is the power of nature when these catastrophic conditions occur.
