Nadia Stone Photography

Nadia Stone Photography Catching raw and timeless emotions. The photos and film he left behind are an enduring legacy of our family and the life that we shared.

As an only child whose parents have both died, the photos I have of my family and my childhood are some of my most valued possessions. My father worked in TV, developed an avid interest in photography and had an eye for capturing the beautiful, messy moments in our everyday lives. I was born and raised in Paris and now live in Berowra with my Australian husband and our three children—on-call model

s who have helped me hone my own “moment capturing eye”. I’ve worked in film and fine art photography since 2013. I’ve exhibited my photos in renowned Australian galleries, travelled Europe for special shoots, had my photos featured in print and online and have won awards—both international and local—for my work. But I’m more interested in the mess and chaos of life than the prestige and accolades. I’m more interested in making art from the ordinariness of life. And creating a legacy for my clients and their families, like the one my father has left for me.

We talk a lot about capturing her — but these photos are for the dads too. This is what he looked like, right in the middle of becoming one. 🤎

{scene from my birth story} :This is the only photograph I have from my first birth.

My husband took it the moment I first saw my son.

I love this photo. But I wish I had more.

At the time, I thought I would remember everything — the sensations, the little details, the moments in between.

But memories fade.

And there are parts of that day I can no longer fully remember or piece back together.

Maybe that’s one of the reasons birth photography means so much to me today.

Because birth is more than the moment a baby arrives.

It’s a story. And everyone deserves to have theirs remembered. 🤍

{scene from a homebirth story} : Three sets of hands.
Dad’s.
The midwife’s.
And a big brother, ready to help welcome his newest family member into the world.
One of those little moments that happens so quickly… but means everything. 🤍

{scene from a homebirth story } : Lifted from the water into the world.

Everything before this moment was preparation. This is the part no one can rehearse.

{scene from a homebirth story } :
There is so much strength in the moments no one sees.

The breathing.
The waiting.
The hands holding on.
The quiet reassurance between contractions.

Birth isn’t always about the moment a baby arrives. Sometimes the most powerful photographs are the moments just before.

The moments of work, trust and connection that unfold between two people.

Honest. Intimate. Unscripted. 🤍
