Mustard Seed Small Farm is closing its doors, as we make our big move to Tassie 🥲

To everyone who bought a chook, a goat, a pumpkin or a jar of pickles over the years, thankyou.

To everyone who gifted me plants, tools & knowledge along the way, thankyou.

To everyone who had a grown-up conversation with this Mumma of small babies, thankyou.

I've been so encouraged by you all & I'm grateful to God for you 🙏

We have 3 pregnant Nigerian Dwarf does available for purchase 🐐🐐🐐

Buying a pregnant doe is great on so many levels. It's a very economical way to start a herd. There's no stinky buck to contend with, & you have a couple of months to bond with your girl before she kids & you start milking (if milk's your thing). Plus baby goats. Have you seen how cute baby goats are?! 😍😍😍

Misty Ridge Ruby Tuesday (3yo)- 81.25% Nigerian Dwarf, confirmed pregnant by blood test & due end June. Kidded twins 2 years ago. Milked around 850mL / day when I got her 4 months after kidding.

Mustard Seed Daisy (18mo)- 92.97% Nigerian Dwarf, confirmed pregnant by blood test & due end June. First freshener (first pregnancy).

Mustard Seed Sophie (18mo)- 92.97% Nigerian Dwarf, confirmed pregnant by blood test & due end June. First freshener (first pregnancy).

I also have Daisy & Sophie's triplet wether, Max, available as a companion.

All are vaccinated, disbudded, CAE/JD negative (tested annually, last tested 3/26) & myotonia clear by parentage.

For newbies, I may have some shelters/ a milking stanchion etc to gift, to help you get started.

The gorgeous & flamboyantly named Colourful Bartholomew, our 100% Nigerian Dwarf buck, is available for sale.

He got all three of our does pregnant in their first heat cycle with him 🙌

He's a lovely smooth body boy from under-height parents (parentage confirmed by DNA)-

Sire- Yinfire Beth's Boy Mason

Dam- Killmany Belle Noire (holder of a *Q* milk award).

Disbudded, vaccinated, from a CAE/JD free herd (last tested 03/26), myotonia clear by parentage. Registered with DGSA.

He's in excellent condition, has a beautiful temperament & is very easy to handle.

Pruning the mulberries hard after fruiting is definitely a thing: we're getting a 2nd flush of fruit for the season 🙌

Midyim berries!! 🤩

Our honeybees have aided pollination immensely, & for the first time we have berries from our little Aussie shrub.

Cucumbers are cranking. Blackberries are recovering after being burnt in the hot weather the other week. Self-sown tiny toms are tiding us over til the (very-late-planted) tomatoes colour up. Chooks have found sneaky spots in the yard to hide their eggs...

It's a fun time of year to be gardening 🌻🥒🧅🌽🫐

It's the passionfruit vine's time to shine 🙌

Last year I lost maybe 2/3 to Qld Fruit fly 🙄 This year I got onto netting fairly quickly & the loss has been much smaller.

I'd say our single vine has put up 4️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ plus fruit this year. What a cracker effort 🏆

The mulberries have finished up & the blackberries have started.

I've pruned the mulberry bushes back hard, to see if they'll fruit again (someone told me this was a thing). I'll let you know how I go!
