Day 29: Reflection
Another one dragged from the archives.
I heard a fantastic quote a few weeks ago which said “don’t trip over your future because you’re so busy looking in the past”. I think this is so relevant on so many levels. Whether you’re always reminiscing over the “good times” (instead of making more), or constantly beating yourself up about mistakes you’ve made. Living in the past is robbing yourself of your potential future, and not only that but you manifest what you are most focussed on - so if you find yourself going around in circles maybe that’s some food for thought 💭
Look into your past to learn your lessons, and appreciate how far you’ve come, but always keep your focus forward.
Thanks for coming to my TED Talk 😂

Day 26: Bad Habit
I was pretty stuck on this one until I found myself on the couch at 3:30pm still in my pjs... then it hit me.
P R O C R A S T I N A T I O N .
Definitely one of my worst habits. Being a melancholy/phlegmatic personality type I am the kind of girl who leaves everything til the last minute, but is then aggressively perfectionist about still doing it right. And then doing it better 😂 it’s not an ideal way to be!
Today I’m using the wintery weather to procrastinate my May50k training. Jammies, warm fire, and a good book is winning the argument.
Yes I have a morbid taste in books 🙃
Anyone willing to admit their worst habit?

Day 28: Eyes
Or eye, in this case. Belonging to a now ex-racehorse by the name of Fantastic Porscha.
60 starts for 5 wins and 17 placings; over $100k in prizemoney. My first Australian winner as a strapper! Way back in 2011.
Now a successful show horse

Six and a half years after taking this photo, I was always bothered with the previous edit.
I’m still not 100% happy with this one but it’s definitely an improvement!

Day 27: Water
I have a fondness of taking photos of water, particularly in the form of falls. I rediscovered this photo only a couple of weeks ago. Taken at Rainbow Springs Nature Park, Rotorua NZ.

Day 25: Low Key
I was totally excited for this one because as I said when I posted the “high key” photo, I love using a lot of shadow to create drama. I did think however that I maybe should google it just to make sure I was aiming for the right thing and 💥... not quite.
Low key is using the shadows to place more emphasis on only one part of the scene that has light on it. Not using shadow to create drama throughout a shot. Lesson learned!
So here is my offering, taken in a ramshackle old barn many years ago. Switches set to off. Another photo I’ve always liked but never had much purpose for. It’s fun watching them all come to life.

Day 23: Close up
Couldn’t chose!
I couldn’t resist this inquisitive c**t! 😂 complete with fly buzzing in the background. Australian summer - you can’t escape them 😬
And the details of the light hitting these fern leaves in NZ a few years ago 🌱
