Extended family fun in SA!!

What a fab time we had away with all my side of the fam. There was no way we could let these memories fade, so a quick impromptu session in between rain and before the footy it was!! These sessions are always the best! No real plans, just going with the flow and following the kids lead.

Still here snowed under with marking assessments, writing reports and culling/editing galleries! Thanks again for everyone’s patience - you guys are the best!!

I don’t take editing lightly and love fine tuning every gallery to make sure it feels just right 🙈 Yes I could throw everything into AI and let it do the work for me. While I know it can make life easier, part of me still wants to hold onto the creative process and keep that personal touch in every image. Yes, I have used it and yes I have a love hate relationship with it. For now, I am doing it all myself and loving the process.

The perfect session amongst the flowers with June and her fam! I love the main character energy from Maxwell! June and Lach are planting a BIGGER field of paper daisies for Spring. I’m so excited! I think it’s no secret that Motherhood sessions are my favorite. The most perfect Autumn day with Rach and Ellidy! It’s always a pleasure capturing this gorgeous family in the many different seasons over the years.

If you are after a family session NOW is your time! Autumn is always my favorite to photograph in. The colours LOOK at the colours 🥰 If you are after sunset photos it sets before bed time, so the kids are happy as well!! I could it 1-2 this month!

My littlest loves. The reason I do what I do. Amongst the chaos they are my calm.

To the mums doing it all - the mental load no one sees, the endless school emails, the lunchboxes, library books, appointments and life admin that somehow always gets done. The soap bottle that magically refills because Mum remembered. The clean clothes folded away, the snacks packed, the cups constantly filled while hers sits forgotten. Often cold.

The taxi mum. The comforter. The safe place. The one carrying so much, often quietly. Motherhood is beautiful, exhausting, overwhelming and deeply important all at once. Today we celebrate you. Not for perfection, but for the million little things you do every single day that make a house feel like home. 🤍

And for the mums finding today hard. The grieving mums, the mums longing to be mums, the ones in the thick of postpartum, exhaustion or survival mode, the mums carrying invisible loads or missing their own mums today. I’m thinking of you too. You are seen, and you are not alone. 🤍

The wonderful June and Lach and their beautiful family – owners of my favourite flower farm

I’ve loved watching both their business flourish (pun intended) and their family grow alongside. So often when I’m here shooting, Maxwell their oldest son is out in the garden living his absolute best life. Digging and running around the flower fields. How lucky are these kids to grow up in a place like this!

Thank you, June and Lach, for trusting me to capture families here and for having me photograph your own beautiful family again. I love watching your business and family grow!

Last nights beautiful session at my favorite . Can you see why I was so obsessed after last nights session now?!

Everything about it was absolute magic! the light, the flowers, and this beautiful family I’ve had the joy of photographing time and time again. AM (the Mum) originally told me she just wanted the kids captured. This quickly changed when the kids wanted snuggles with their safe person. These are the moments that matter most.

These sessions are my favorite and what I’m all about! A little chaotic, completely unposed, no pressure, just kids being themselves and running wild through the flowers. Exactly the way I love to work!

The dahlias will be gone with the first frost, and we are so close now. I have limited spots this Friday afternoon for Motherhood Sessions and then this season is over.

O’Toole Extended Family pt 1

On Sunday I photographed Abbey’s family on her grandparents’ farm. A place filled with so many of her childhood memories. Now she gets to experience it all over again, reliving it through her three children’s eyes!

Four generations together, it doesn’t get much more special than that. I feel incredibly grateful to have been able to capture and freeze these moments in time for them all!

And as always, it’s an extra honour being trusted to photograph another photographer’s family. Thank you, Abbey 🤍

Also, I have caught back up on editing! I think I went to bed at midnight every night this week 🙈 Back on track! A night in watching the footy with the fam and an early night is on the cards.

Sneak peeks are in for my beautiful families from the weekend!

I had to laugh because I can relate! Every single session was with boy mums wanting photos with their boys. Less “mum behind the camera”, more “mum in the chaos” 😂 Mission accomplished!
