If you knew that song straight away, you probably pictured a Subaru. That’s branding working. Except this is a Prado on a dirt road, and if you know the TV ad, the song probably still got you.

I’m Fee, I run Hamlet and Fields, a marketing agency working with rural and regional businesses across country New South Wales. A lot of my week can look like this.

A logo, a colour, a song, they’re just triggers. They pull on a feeling someone already has about your business. No feeling, nothing to pull on.

Nobody drives two hours for a logo. They drive it for the person who gave them advice, went above and beyond, or remembered their kids’ names.

Most of my working week happens on the road lately.

Out on shoots, a saleyard, and client meetings.

Podcasts are how I use that time. Marketing, business, the odd interview with someone running something interesting. I’ve picked up more sitting in the car than I have in half the courses I’ve paid for šŸ˜†

Problem is but, I’ve run dry…. Hoping you could help? Marketing, business, ag, or something completely unrelated that’s just as good.

Leave it below and I’ll get through the list on the drive to Henty Machinery Field Days

First day at Central Tablelands Livestock Exchange.

The interactions. The personalities. The passion. The banter.

What a great bunch of people… Excited for this one 🤠

Nothing to see here, Margot… 🐾

Just my lil’ dachshund discovering salt & vinegar chippies for the first time.

Hardly groundbreaking material.

But there’s a whole little story in there.

The noticing. The investigation. The discovery. The very questionable decision to go back for another sniff.

And that’s the thing about storytelling.

We tend to think something big needs to happen before it’s worth filming. A launch. A sale. A finished project. A big announcement.

Most of the good stuff is already happening in the ordinary parts.

The workshop opening in the morning.
Cattle coming into the yards.
The first coffee before everyone arrives.
A conversation leaning over the fence.
Hands doing something they’ve done a thousand times.

You don’t always need to create content.

Sometimes you just need to notice it.

Follow along, I’ll keep showing you how to spot the little stories in your own business, and turn them into content people actually want to watch šŸ‘€

I use AI in my own business.

Plenty of admin tasks, yes. Editing, hooks, to tidy up captions.
I give it the story, context and actual words, then it helps shape and tidy them after I’ve done the client work and audits.

So my question is: if AI has touched the content at all, even slightly, and that becomes detectable… does it actually matter?

I’ve always led with authenticity. The thinking, story and judgement behind the work are still human.

So out of this latest AI ā€˜episode’ hitting socials, whether any of it actually matters is the bit I’ll be watching.

And I’m not saying it doesn’t matter when people use AI to churn out generic copy and pass it off as original thinking. But most of the time, we can already tell when we’re reading that stuff anyway. And we scroll straight past it, right?

Would love to know your thoughts šŸ‘‡
