🌱 Good food. Good people. A whole lot of heart. 🤳💚

Part 1

Last Sunday, I had the pleasure of photographing WA Farmer on Your Plate — a beautiful celebration of food, farming and the regional connections that bring it all together.

But beyond the food and festivities, it was the people who made the day special. The humble, passionate souls who care deeply about what they do and are working hard to make a difference in their communities.

Since starting The Pocket Lens, I’ve developed an even greater appreciation for people who are willing to back themselves, take a leap of faith and give something a go.

The small business owners. The entrepreneurs. The community builders. The people turning an idea into something real, often behind the scenes, putting in the hard yards and figuring it out as they go.

I see so much courage, creativity and heart in that. And I feel lucky that my own journey is bringing me into their worlds. 🤍

I was delighted to photograph this wonderful cause, capturing the people, the atmosphere and the little moments that tell the bigger story.

Because for me, photography has never just been about taking pictures. It’s about capturing what a moment feels like — the connections, the energy, the humanity and the things worth remembering.

🤳📱🤳Have an event, a business or a story worth sharing? I’d love to help you bring it to life through The Pocket Lens.

Here’s to the people who care, the ones who dare to start, and everyone who keeps showing up. ✨

Coastal breeze, turquoise views, and the rock doves of Esperance putting on a show and claiming the best seats on the waterfront! I got some beautiful shots of them mid flight…🕊️

I miss these skies. ❤️

There’s something about Esperance that stays with you long after you’ve left.

Maybe it’s the sheer vastness of it. Those enormous open skies, the endless Southern Ocean and that incredibly clean, salty air that seems to make every colour pop.

I remember standing there just looking up and out… watching the light change almost by the minute.

Gold became amber.
Amber became turquoise.
Blue deepened into indigo.

Then suddenly the whole sky would explode into pink, purple and orange.

And the ocean just sat beneath it all, reflecting whatever the sky decided to give it.

Looking back through these photographs, I realise it isn't just the colours I miss.

I miss how I felt there.
The space.
The quiet.
The freedom.
The feeling of being completely present in the moment.

There’s something about standing beneath a sky that big that puts life into perspective. Whatever is happening in your head, whatever you’re carrying, suddenly feels a little smaller.

And that's why I love mobile photography so much.

Because sometimes you don't realise how much a moment meant to you until you look back at it through a photograph.

These skies remind me to breathe.

To look up.

To notice the light.

And to remember that there is always beauty happening around us.

Esperance, I miss you. And I really, really miss that sky. 🤍🌅

Sometimes you just have to ask. 📸🌅

I was at the beach yesterday watching an absolutely incredible sunset when I noticed a group of young boys just doing what boys do — kicking a footy around, mucking about, jumping in the sand, laughing and hanging out together.

I walked over and asked if they’d mind if I took some photos.

They were so lovely and obliging, and I ended up capturing some pretty awesome moments.

What struck me most wasn’t just how great the photos looked against that sunset — it was the brotherhood between them. The easy friendship, the way they looked out for each other, the fun they were having and, most of all, the genuine politeness they showed me as a complete stranger.

No fancy poses. No perfect setup.
Just boys being boys, friendship, fun and a spectacular sunset.

And ladies… before you scroll on… 👀😂
I think we can all agree there are some seriously handsome young men in this collection!

Good-looking, good mates, polite AND apparently capable of backflips on the beach. 😂

You’re welcome. 😉😈😎

This is exactly why I love photography — capturing the moments that aren't planned.
The laughs.
The chaos.
The connection.
The little moments that might otherwise be forgotten.

If you're looking for someone to capture candid, natural moments — the real laughs, the genuine connection and the beauty in between — I'm your lens. 📱📸
