The incredible gorges of Karijini National Park. Waterways that have been carved deep into the layers of this ancient country, and shaped slowly over time.

Golden hour has long been my favourite time of day, but out here - solo - watching sun rise and the rich Pilbara tones come to life felt like something else entirely. I rose each morning before first light, trundling down tracks in the dark so I didn’t miss a minute of it.

I’ve been told for years to come here. It took only minutes of that very first morning to see why. I was immediately obsessed with the place - and still am! 💛🌅

The spectacular Hamersley Gorge… with its deep deep ochre hues and contrasting rock seams, along with ghost gums and stunning reflections… one of my absolute favorite highlights of the Karijini area. 🙌🏻👌🏻❤️

Last year I took my camera and went adventuring through Outback Australia… I captured work along the way for and had company for the odd bits from son Jack, friend Keri, or whoever I met along the way. But most of it was solo. Just me and a my parents caravan, and every tool or piece of adventuring paraphernalia friends or family insisted I take! I thought I’d be sharing the journey here, and I did for a bit… but the longer I was out there, the quieter I needed to be. It was a deeply personal journey through this beautiful big brown land of ours… and a time that I’ve held closely within me for the many months since.
I’ve treasured it long enough though now, and it was far too beautiful to not share indefinitely. The past few weeks I’ve slowly headed down the rabbit hole of processing the images that until now have remained on camera cards.. etched in mind and soul only since. I’m so excited to start sharing the trip from Karijini back down to Vic, and hope you enjoy.🤎

The last of my Cape to Cape walk images for a little bit… and our last nights beautiful accommodation in Perth seems fitting! This place completely blew our minds and was the perfect way to finish our fabulous 5 day adventure. I would go back to Perth in a heartbeat just to stay here…. 🙌🏻👌🏻
