WE DID IT!!! ❤️

Between Us, my photograph of my daughter, has won the People’s Choice Award at the 2026 National Photographic Portrait Prize.

This photograph came from such a small moment. She was sitting quietly on her own, lost in her little world, while I watched from a short distance. For the first time, I really felt that my baby girl was becoming a little girl.

Somehow, that very personal moment connected with so many of you.

To everyone who voted, shared, messaged friends — and put up with my endless reminders 😂 — thank you. This one really means a lot.

Being close didn’t mean stepping forward.
Loving her meant learning when to stay still. ❤️

A little unexpected magic during Carey and Andrew’s engagement session ✨

We were photographing them in the park when a small grass fire nearby was put out by firefighters. Once it was safe, the last of the smoke drifted through the trees, making a sunny afternoon look like a misty morning. Of course, our team had to take a photo in it!

From that moment in the park to the harbour at night, we had such a fun time with these two. Can’t wait to photograph their wedding in November! ❤️

We’re officially into the FINAL TWO WEEKS of voting!

If you’ve been following us recently, you’ll know that our founder and principal photographer Franky’s personal portrait “Between Us” was selected as a finalist in the National Photographic Portrait Prize 2026 and is being exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery of Australia.

And the little model?

Franky’s daughter, Michaela. ❤️

Although calling her a “model” might be generous because she had absolutely no idea she was being photographed. 😂

No posing. No lighting setup. No direction.

Just a dad standing back and noticing his daughter sitting quietly on the snow at Perisher.

That space between them became the story of the photograph — the changing distance between a parent and child as they grow up.

For more than 17 years, Team Divon has been there capturing so many of your important moments.

First looks. Weddings. New families. Parents crying. Kids growing up. Graduations. Anniversaries. And some very questionable dance-floor behaviour. 😂

This time, we have a little moment of our own.

As photographers, we spend our lives trying to preserve moments before they disappear.

We freeze time with a single click, never knowing which photographs will become the ones we treasure most.

People often ask me what my favourite photograph is.

They expect it to be an award-winning image.
Or a famous wedding.
Or a photograph that's travelled around the world.

The truth is...

It's this one.

This was the very first photograph I ever took of the woman I would one day marry.

January 2013.

I was photographing someone else's wedding.
She was simply one of the guests.

I didn't know her name.

I didn't know we'd fall in love.

I didn't know she'd become my wife, the mother of our beautiful daughter, and the person I'd want to spend the rest of my life with.

To me, it was just another frame.

Funny how life works.

It never tells you when the most important moments are happening. Sometimes, they only reveal their meaning years later.

Looking back now, I realise I wasn't just photographing a wedding.

Without knowing it, I was quietly capturing the first page of our own story.

Thirteen years later, we've built a beautiful life together, become parents to an incredible little girl, and we're celebrating Seven years of marriage.

Of all the photographs I've taken over the years, this one means the most.

Not because it's perfect.

But because it reminds me that the greatest moments in life are often the ones we never see coming.

Happy 7th wedding anniversary, my love.

If life gave me another beginning, I'd still pick up my camera... hoping that, somewhere along the way, you'd walk into the frame again. ❤️

We met some lovely couples yesterday at the ABE Wedding Expo at Sydney Showground! ❤️

Sorry for putting you on the spot… and literally under our spotlight! 😂📸

A few of you told us you weren’t very comfortable in front of the camera—but after a little chat, a few laughs and some gentle direction, look at those beautiful, natural smiles!

That’s always our goal at Divon. You don’t need to know how to pose or be “good in front of the camera.” Just relax, be yourselves and let us bring out the real connection between you. That’s where the best photos come from. ❤️

We also had some fun photographing the gorgeous models in these beautiful designer wedding dresses—and, of course, the talented designers behind them!

It was so lovely meeting everyone today. Hopefully, the next time you’re standing in front of our camera, it’ll be on your wedding day! 🥂💍

There’s something pretty special about being a wedding photographer. ❤️

For 17+ years, Franky has spent his weekends photographing everyone else’s big moments...

The first look.
Dad trying very hard not to cry.
Mum definitely crying. 😂
The rings. The kiss. The ch*****ne.
And that one uncle who suddenly becomes Michael Jackson after 10pm. 🕺😂

More than 1,000 weddings later, we’ve been lucky enough to be there for a LOT of your memories.

Well...

This time, we have a little moment of our own. 🥹

What a fantastic day at the Your Local Wedding Guide Expo! ❤️

A huge thank you to every couple who stopped by our booth, had a chat, shared a laugh, and trusted us with a little piece of your wedding planning journey. It was so nice meeting so many newly engaged couples (and seeing all those excited smiles!).

Today, Australia farewelled Professor Richard Scolyer AO.

In April, Franky had the honour of photographing him at the University of Sydney as he received an honorary Doctor of Medicine for his extraordinary contribution to melanoma research.

We photograph many graduation ceremonies, but some moments stay with us a little longer. Watching Professor Scolyer walk onto the stage, receive his honour and share his words with the graduating students was one of those moments.

At the time, we knew we were photographing an incredible scientist. Looking back today, these photographs feel even more precious.

His research changed the future of melanoma treatment and saved thousands of lives. His courage after his own brain cancer diagnosis inspired an entire country.

It was a privilege to capture this small chapter of such an extraordinary life.

This image has placed 5th in the world in the Wedding Reportage / Photojournalism category at the World Photographic Cup 2026, with Team Australia also finishing 3rd overall 🇦🇺🥉

We’ve always believed the most meaningful wedding photographs are the real ones — honest moments full of love, connection, and story. It’s incredibly special to see that recognised on the world stage.

From weddings straight into 5 weeks of graduations at USYD 🎓📸

Different kind of celebration, same kind of energy — proud families, big smiles, happy tears, and people stepping into the next chapter of their lives.

USYD always feels a bit like home to me. I did my Master’s at the art school there, so every time I’m back on campus, there’s a little extra nostalgia mixed in with the work.

The buildings, the atmosphere, the gowns, the beautiful chaos, proud parents trying to take 500 phone photos at once… love it all 😄

And to wrap up the job, we finished with some headshots for the amazing graduation team — the legends behind all the smooth running, long days, and endless smiles.

Big few weeks, tired feet, full memory cards, happy heart.
