Far from home in Canberra, I found myself collaborating with Lara, a striking model from Devojka Models Actors + Creative Talent Canberra, for one of my favourite jewellery designers from the Byron Shire. There’s a certain magic in working with familiar creative souls, even when you’re miles from your own patch of coastline.
A studio, I’ve learned, is simply wherever you can conjure the right light. That lesson came early, back in my days racing between shoots for a fashion magazine, where we’d transform the oddest corners into backdrops. So it felt natural to build a little world for this shoot right on the foreshore at Kingston, Canberra—letting the light and the moment shape the story.
