Out of luck trying to get to the dry docked yacht mid week in time before it was shifted off the rock shelf so I set up by the Shelly Rock Pools Friday night to try my luck at a Milky Way capture before the next little bit of rain arrived.

Been a long time since I’ve found some Astro motivation within.
Season is just beginning in Australia with the Milky Way core rising in the east around 3.30am giving a very short window before sunrise to enjoy its beauty.

With another perfectly accurate timeframe by of a 3am arrival I set out at midnight after a roof inspection presented some already visible bolts.
Rather than get a few hours sleep and set an alarm I paced around until midnight and decided to bolt 🤔 out of the house and chose a location.
I thought this widespread instability line moving northwards was going to be a head on collision and was getting a bit of anxious excitement but then it kinked to the NE and proceeded offshore towards the Tweed coast.
Back in bed by 5am, very tired but very content ⚡️

Got so much footage from the storms passing either side of Nambucca last Friday arvo into Saturday morning and can’t wait to be bothered to get into the editing zone to mash up some footage and Timelapse’s to share.
