Nelly looks so sweet, but don’t be fooled. When she doesn’t like something, she gives you a lil lip nip. Like last week while float training. And the week before making her walk somewhere she didn’t want to 🦄

I read somewhere the other week that mares get a bad wrap for their behavior, but it’s because they express their feelings more clearly than the boys. Made me think back to all I’ve owned, and I tend towards agreeing.

Fantastic Mr Slick.
It is so wonderful to have a worldly old gentleman join the herd. He’s not a dressage pony, a show horse looker or a sky high jumper, but a trusted kind soul, with a side of cheek.

I am loving just being able to go out in the paddocks by ourselves for a canter, building our fitness up together.
