Time for an update, really must do this more often! I think I'm up to May, which was "Texture" month. I got a Bronze for "Shackled" and Merits for "The Gap" & "Scrubland". My favourite shot was the other "Gap" image but the judge didn't agree.

Hi all, I've got a bit behind in my clubs' monthly exhibition results so I might combine August and September's results.
The August theme was Pinhole photography which certainly tested our creativity and DIY skills!
You can actually easily convert any DSLR to a pinhole camera. All you do is remove the lens and replace it with the body cap in which you've put a tiny pinhole in the centre of. Google it if you're keen. The results are surprisingly good. I entered 4 images in pinhole and 2 in Open.
The Windmill got bronze and the lake a silver.
In the open category I got a silver for the "Eyes of the Forest" and a bronze for the stairway.
Septembers theme was "Macro" which is essentially really close up shots usually of insects or flowers etc.
Never really done much Macro so I wasn't expecting much. I did get a silver, surprisingly for "Kangaroo Paw 2".
I hope you like the shots.

This year our Photography club decided to publish a calendar. the theme will be Western Australia. Members were invited to submit a maximum of four images and a committee will choose the final images. My contribution consisted of the images below. A Cottesloe sunset, the Crawley Boatshed, Sugarloaf Rock and a night view of the Perth skyline. Out of these, my Sugarloaf Rock image was chosen.

Junes theme for our Exhibition Night was "Focus Stacking", and no, it doesn't involve piling up a heap of small ford motor cars:).
It actually involves taking multiple shots of the same scene/object but altering the focus point in each shot so that everything you want to be in focus, is in focus. Usually used in conjunction with a large aperture( hole in lens that light passes thru) so you get a sharper image than you would get taking just one shot with a small aperture... capiche? Good.
My very first attempt to photograph flowers got me 3 Bronzes which I was quite happy about.
I quite like the 2 shots of the old farmhouse even though they didn't score.
I also just heard that a photo I submitted to Printwest (the Silo) has been accepted into the 2nd "Print" round.
Printwest is one of the bigger photo comps in WA and is only open to Photographic club members, so the standards are usually quite high. It is also designed to promote photographic prints as opposed to just digital entries. I'll keep you posted on how it goes.
I hope you enjoy this months shots
