Darren Hart Photography

Darren Hart Photography Wedding photography, specialising in small intimate weddings, birthday events, family portraits, co Slamm was releasing a CD - Live @ Love Parade 01.

I have always had an interest in photography, initially covering weddings, portraiture and family photos as a part time role. I worked closely with a German photographer in a portrait studio who taught me all aspects of studio and location photography. Back in early 1991, I went along to a photo exhibition at the Max Dupain Studios in Paddington. I was strongly influenced by the work of Max Dupain

, and, after meeting, and, talking with Max, I started my own business - Darren Hart Photography. In late 1991.
1998 - I became the official photographer for the Hornsby Chamber of Commerce, to present day.
2001 - I was sent to Berlin, Germany, to cover The Love Parade, for Slamm Records - Sydney. Slamm Records used my photos on
CD covers and booklets from 1998 - 2004. I currently do a lot of work for Hornsby RSL Club and ARQ Night Club in Sydney.

Couple of weeks ago I was asked to do a photography job at a lovely venue, that oozed charm, and, nostalgia, Avoca Beach Theatre.
Simone Waddell, and her band, singing, and paying tribute to the great female voices from the golden years of jazz.
Simone has a lovely voice, the band played many hits from yesteryear.
It was a great afternoon, did some fantastic photos, that captured the day, perfectly. I would recommend going to see, and, hear, Simone as soon as you can.

We have been planning this trip for years, we are finely on our European trip, starting in Paris.
Last night we went to see Moulin Rouge, I managed to keep it a secret from Kath, the show was spectacular, she was blown away.
Today, we had lunch, 1/2 way up the tower at, Madame Brasserie, another awesome venue to have lunch.
Tomorrow, we board a train to Amsterdam, my next post will be from an Amsterdam ‘cafe’. It should make an interesting post.

Sunday 30th October, I was at The Kingsford Juniors Club, at an Halloween Rave, put on by Carly, from Big Fish Little Fish Events.
They had two ,legendary Sydney, DJ's, Nik Fish and Jumpin Jack, pumping out the dance music tracks.
Almost everyone there was dressed for Halloween, they had bubble machines, stilt walkers, and, face painting.
As you can see by my photos, it was a fun filled, monsters everywhere, day. Everyone had a day full of scary fun.
I had a great time walking around all the monsters, and, ghouls.

I met Aidin, and Mehrnoosh, at La Perouse, on Saturday 23/10. This area has wonderful water views, with the historic Bare Island Fort, in the background. The day was bright and sunny, a little windy, otherwise, perfect!
Aidin and Mehrnoosh, were having their wedding later that day, they just wanted some great, Darren Hart Photography, photos of the two of them.
I am sure that they will be overjoyed with my photos, I have included a few from the day here.
I wish Aidin and Mehrnoosh, all the best for their future.

Finally, FREEDOM DAY.
Went down to the barber, surprisingly, not a long wait.
Sitting in the chair, cloth mask on, vax certificate at the ready.
Certificate checked, haircut begins.
My barber starts with the shears, removing copious amounts of hair.
Goodbye to 3.5 months of growth.
All is going great until the scissor work starts.
You hear the quick, snip, snip, snip, moves to another area, snip, snip, snip, moves on to another area.
Then suddenly!
Snip, snip, snip........mask falls off.........Sh*t!
Haircut stops!.........
I look at the barber, he looks at me. Mask, off, in my lap. Haircut 3/4 done.
Barber, still looking at me, and says, “You need a musk on to get a haircut.”
Paper mask given, haircut completed.

Thanks Gladys, for allowing people to get on the dance floor, after such a long time.
Easter Sunday, I was at the Oxford Underground night club, in Sydney, for a night of great music, and, a whole bunch of happy people. The night was called Renascence. Everyone was so happy to be together, dancing, drinking, and, listening to DJ's mixing up some great trance music.
I was enjoying walking around, taking photos, and, making the smiles on their faces even bigger after their photo was taken. Most people bought their photo from me, so they could take their memory of their 1st club night, since last year, home with them. It was a very colorful, and, enjoyable night.

This morning our house was woken by a tremendous crash, from the front of the house.
A huge tree was blown over, crashing down onto our carport, and, our car.
There is a hole in our lounge room ceiling, water is streaming through it onto our furniture.
The car is probably a write off, maybe the house as well.
They said we needed the rain, seriously, this is unbelievable. Thanks Mother Nature!

Monday, 21/10/19, I was at the Matt Kean MP event held at Magpies Waitara. It was a combined event held by Matt Kean and Hornsby Chamber of Commerce. Over 100 people attended. I was taking photos, for the Chamber web site.
I spoke with Matt Kean, and, to my surprise, he said that he mentioned me in parliament. I looked at him, and, asked him why. He was talking about Hornsby Chamber of Commerce, giving a bit of history about it. Click on the video, below, have a listen, wait till near the end to see what he says about me. So cool!
See more photos from this event on the Hornsby Chamber of Commerce web page,

On Sunday, 6/10, I was asked to come along to an event by Thomas Knight, DJ and Promoter, with, Rodd Richards put on an event called FANTASIA - Rise of the Phoenix.
The Fantasia events started back in 2002, in a small venue at Pagewood ( I was there). Walking through the crowd was like a trip down memory lane, so many old, familiar, faces.
A DJ, Dave PSI, was up on stage, with an microphone, he introduced me to the crowd saying to everyone, "We have, here, Darren Hart, who remembers this man?"
With that a huge cheer came from the crowd, we then arranged a great crowd photo.
Also appearing, on stage, was Dyewitness, Ultrasonic, and, Public Domain, and, MC Cyclone. Girls dancing with multi coloured hula hoops, even an appearance from Astro Boy.
An awesome night, great music, and, great crowd.

Last night, 13th September, the Chamber celebrated their 100th anniversary. Held at Asquith Golf Club, over 50 members attended.
I was also awarded a Certificate of Appreciation, for longest serving member of the Chamber of Commerce committee.
The award was presented to me by The Mayor of Hornsby, Philip Ruddock.
Here are a few photos from the night, more can be seen on the Chamber website, www.hornsbychamber.com.au/gallery

Here is another reason why I love being a photographer.
Saturday 20/7, I was on board the MV Constellation, on Sydney Harbour.
I have been working with DJ Ruby for many years, as his photographer. As well as taking photos of the night, what I have been doing is printing out photos, placing them into a presentation folder, and bring them back to the people, a few minutes later.
They are surprised, and I tell them that they can thank DJ Ruby, for the photo. They love it!
I received a txt message, from DJ Ruby, on Tuesday.
The message mentioned about a man that was in a photo that I gave out, his partner has brain cancer, and, he is the carer. His friends told him to come out for the night and just forget about everything and have a good time. He had a wonderful time, and he specifically mentioned the fact that he got a photo to take away.
He was very moved by the whole experience.
DJ Ruby added this to his message.
I sometimes forget the impact of what we do, so feedback like that is very grounding. Our events are made special by the skills and dedication of each member of the team. You are a key member of our team and your contribution made someone's evening and is probably something he will never forget.
A big thank you to you.

That made me feel great.
