It’s 10pm and I’m finally able to sit down and post, and Tommy has woken up. As I sit here feeding him on his birthday I’m reflecting on this last year and I knew I’d feel emotional today. Tommy is the last baby for us. (1000% 😅) We took years to decide on a 4th after a 5 1/2 year break and the pros and cons were impossible to figure out. Tanner was about to start prep and life would feel that little bit easier. But the big question for me was would I cope?! The hardest part about this past year (plus the pregnancy) in all honesty, is that I haven’t always coped and in a lot of ways I’ve been in survival mode. BUT, in the end we felt so strongly that he was meant to be, and now we can’t imagine life without him. Tommy has added so much joy, especially watching the older kids with him, he is so loved. I second guess my sanity every single day, I’m super hard on myself and carry so much guilt of not being enough for them. But, I love being a mum more than anything, and how beautiful to see and remember this through photos. When things can feel heavy, it’s nice to see me as a good, happy mum, with a happy kid. I don’t know when his last feed will be, or the last time he’ll do round and round the garden, play peek a boo or say ‘hey google’ (yes, some of his first words 😂) so I will hold these memories close. Thank you ❤️❤️

And by the time I post this, they’re booking in for their next session 😅 I love these guys!! Never a dull moment and so much fun. If you have a session coming up, take a second to think about the vibe you want to create. Which one would you prefer?

Option 1

Overthink outfits
Force the kids to smile at the camera
Don’t let clothes get dirty or wet
worry how you’ll look
Worry the kids will ‘be naughty’

Option 2

Let kids be kids
Choose clothes your comfy in
Go with the flow
Bring props
Give family your undivided attention
Be spontaneous
Use distraction over discipline

The most common reason for vibe 1 creeping in is the need for everything to be PERFECT. And I get it, you payed the money, stressed about outfits, managed to get everyone there (which is no small effort, especially for big families) BUT my biggest advice would be to stress all you want before the shoot, but then LET IT GO! You can’t do anything more, so leave the rest to me and we can create magic like this ✨

Bliss ball recipe from my stories the other day… just because they’re so good! I used to steal these all the time when I worked for Nadene (Family and owner of a dress label I photographed for) and I still make them.. Save for later if you’re like me and never write things down! Thanks Nadene, I miss those days!
3 1/2 cups almond meal
3 1/2 cups rolled oats (processed in the food processor to a fine consistency)
1/4 - 1/2 cup cocoa powder
1 jar rice malt syrup
Nuts/chocolate of your choice chopped fine

Her fav combo is roasted salted pistachios (cheapest is Aldi) Shelled and chopped fine with
Cadbury dark cherry ripe block chopped fine

Combine well and roll into balls and roll in desiccated coconut.

Refrigerate and enjoy 🥰

Some combos I’ve tried lately..

Orange dark chocolate with orange zest, juice and macadamias (I like extra cocao too)

Mint dark chocolate and peppermint essence

I’ve also tried using half dates blitzed up with a bit of hot water and half of the syrup. Not as moist (my fav word 😂) but still really good!

Can also make in bulk and freeze so you have a never ending supply of snacking instead of pounding the chocolate like I was 👍 let me know if you like them!
